Converting enormous DIVX avi to mpg
What will convert huge divx avi files to mpg 1? I need smaller manageable files.
Tried vcdcutter and no go. Any recommendations? |

VDub converts mpg to avi last I checked, not the other way around.
I would recommend converting to wmv with Windows Media Batch Encoder . . . . makes high quality files, and a lot smaller, easily viewed by everyone with no strange codecs required |

oh, and converting avi to mpg will only serve to make the files much larger, like about 4 times as big as they were

Use Vdub to make one big avi file, then use XingMPEGEncoder to convert the file to MPEG.. All kinds of compression available for different qualities/file sizes
