i've always preferred referral id links. people are too lazy to remove them to cheat you out of a sale =D
plus its better for people who bookmark a page and come back later.
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR.
Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.
Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.

At a guess, the original poster has 20% no cookie clicks on his TGP, and mistakenly assumed that it meant that 20% of his uniques didn't have cookies enabled...
The majority of the no cookie clicks on my TGPs are site rippers. No issues with uncredited affiliate signups there.
Actually Lane and Oracle are both right.
The number of users with cookies disabled grows everyday, but lightspeed uses their own software to track joins, they're not dependent on ccbill's cookies system, so lightspeed webmasters aren't affected by that.
If your sponsor is only using cookies to track signups then you're losing alot of money.
Of course even php sessions aren't perfect, nor is any other tracking method I've seen.
The Doc posted in a thread one time about the internets "built in shave".....because there is no perfect way to track all clicks and signups.

Okay, I'm hanging around here more. Smart people hang out here, so will I
I was wondering about that for years. With all the ' internet washing ' thingies out there how many sales might we be losing to these programs?
Once the cookie is gone we're out a sale.
I really don't think those have the effect that alot of people think they do.
People run the cookie washer programs after they log off for the day to cover their tracks. They don't affect your clicks and signups.....at worst you'll lose a bookmark signup or two because the cookie got washed before the surfer returned to sign up.
Even if they had the washer set to run every 20 minutes automatically, it only takes 2 minutes to click a banner and signup.
Just about your best bet, I'd think... is to build your sites, including your sponsor site with one main variable that is attached to every single clickable link and form there is on everything....
the only way you'd lose your surfer that way, is if they put the mouse up there and manually take that thing out of the url.... or if they don't sign up then... you know, those fun ones that leave and come back a week later to sign up.
Anyway, so long as you can hold their hand from start to finish, a passed variable from click to click will do it.
