I have cable, $39.95 a month. I love it...usually. Last night and today though the thing has been up and down like Oprah's weight problem. I haven't gotten fuck-all accomplished. I was going to use my time wisely this morning and finish up an anal hardcore AVS site since my daughter was out of the house and I could actually -- gasp! -- work in the daytime. But my connection bounced on and off until I just gave up and went back to bed. :feels-hot

a) Cox cable starts at $49.99 a month, and I pay $59.99 because I refuse to use their bloated priced cable TV. b) Goes down every other day sometimes for 8+ hours c) only recently got fast with the new "change over" last month. 14KB/Sec upload is not fast. |

No... I don't work for COX. I am only answering a question that was asked by another Las Vegan. Since my experience with cable has been positive... I passed that on. I re-checked the price, it is $39.99 a month, I did type $39.95... I was off by 4 cents, no misinformation intended. I do have cable TV service and I own my modem, so it is less than 40 bucks a month. Your problems with the cable may be related to your area??? I have never had problems with the cable speed. 14KB/sec upload? I have never experienced that. For what you are paying a month, I'd be pissed off too. |

Last year I had Sprint DSL when that was the only thing available in my small city. It was slow as fuck. I'm now with Cox cable and in Phoenix it's $34.95 and is super fast. Monday I'm taking a 3 month trip back to Indiana for some family deals but I'm having cable hooked up 4 hours before I fly into IN.. I hate dial up and would never run sites with 56k again

I have 386/386 DSL with Verizon and small Local ISP in Dallas.
Multiple fixed IPs on SMC router with wireless 802.11b for laptop. :) |
comcast cable, sbc DSL (mid speed one), ATT&T dial up. The mid speed sbc DSL is faster than the Cable.
