How Do I ....... (PS Help Needed)

Ok i did a shape with the elipse tool ... kinda looks like a squashed circle in a way.

Id like to stroke the edges to give it a border.

I am trying to lasso the edges of it to select it, but i can never get a clean edge by doing it this way.

Is there another way?

Is this object in its own layer? If it is, cntrl-click the layer and it should load up the selection. If its not in its own layer and you want to be able to select that object... go to select>save selection.. then you load it up later through the menus. The first way is probably the easiest for ya

Easiest way would be using layer effects, Choose layer>layer style>stroke...
