Who's ready for space travel?

I say in the next 15-20 years we'll be traveling in space!

MOJAVE, Calif. - SpaceShipOne soared to a record 368,000 feet early Monday, easily surpassing the altitude required to win the Ansari X Prize for private spaceflight and breaking an altitude record set by the U.S. military's X-15 space plane in 1963.

You really don?t think the commercial airlines will be doing this in the very near future? My bet is that it?s already on the drawing board. I can see flying to Japan in a couple hours, rather than damn near half a day. I think people will be in space sooner than we think....

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea. But I think that cost for this type of travel would remain relatively large for a long time..

Cost is to high for it to become so commercial in so few years, maybe further in the future though

There is a ton of money in private space businesses..... imagine the next X prize type thing... the first person to build a spaceship and land on the moon twice in a week with the same ship wins $50 million.

then it would be easy as fuck to build a moon base.

I think that the research that this guy and people like him are doing is what will move us into the flying car era. But I think that it will be our grandchildren that will be living on the moon and places like that.
