First of all, any girl that would do that to you is nothing but trash and you don't need someone like that.
Second of all, it IS just as much the guy's fault as it is hers because he knew that she was dating someone else. If any girl ever tried to hit on my husband, I'd politely tell her that if she values her pretty hair, she'd shove the hell off before I ripped it all out of her head and served it to her topped with a light marinara and a grating of fresh parmesan. Of course, that's only because I know my husband would decline her advances. If he was a cheater, it'd be his hide AND her's I'd tack to the wall. Unless I just decided he wasn't worth it anyway. right now i'm pretty sad and depressed but at the same time extremely fucking livid at her and this guy for walking on my side of the world. luckily we do not live together so I don't have to see her ass anymore except for tomorrow - she is going to party which I was not invited to and I'm assuming this fuck head is going to be there...  she just went on and on about this guy and if I would have said STFU about him I would have got the "your so possessive and this and that and this that" so I just let it go so I did not have to hear that for the last month....

Same shit happened to me a few weeks ago.
This girl I was going out with for 6 months started talking about this new guy alot and shit.
