Incorporate your business, change the whois.
Can still get corporate info, but it's harder.
Or incorporate in nevada, USA. That state does
not make officers identities public record.

Some of the better domain registrars have an option to do that for a small fee a year. I also really like .to domains, it shows nothing except for the nameservers in the whois info. Updating nameservers also takes place immediately, and not 48 hours. I think they are $100 for 2 years or so at tonic.to.

Not sure about 'protect domain', theres also 'lock domain', but thats completely something else, it protects it against transfers (its free).

Uhhh, read the Terms at GoDaddy. Hide the whois info.. all it takes is 1 FAKED email about spam and they will hold your domain ransom and charge you 100 bucks.

Check out their TOS... They don't really even investigate..

Unless something has changed...

Call GoDaddy customer service and ask.

Erm...check the godaddy link above! Its one of their services to put their info in the whois rather than yours.

You should also be aware that if you use Godaddy's "privacy" service that it makes them the official owner of your domain name. The only name allowed to show in the whois is the name of the person or company who owns the domain, and if you read their terms about that service you'll see that you are transferring ownership of the domain to them in order to get your info made "private". So if there's ever a problem, or a dispute, or a bogus complaint, you have no rights to the name if they decide they want to take it from you or keep you from using it.
