Project Mapping Software

To those who have worked with Microsoft Visio before, can you recommend similar software for graphically mapping out projects and making those pretty little flow charts?

/edit for spelling

I use Microsoft Project.

It is one of the better pieces of project management software on the market.

See, I just use paper, it works great and I don't have to find the files on my hard drive when I'm drunk.

Does it have to be Windows software? KOffice (http://www.kde.org) has flowchart and project management software, I believe. It's for *nix mostly, though.
