3:1 A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. 3:2 the Lord, how many are mine adversaries become! Many are they that rise up against me. 3:3 Many there are that say of my soul: 'There is no salvation for him in God.' Selah 3:4 But thou, O the Lord, art a shield about me; my glory, and the lifter up of my head. 3:5 With my voice I call unto the Lord, and He answereth me out of His holy mountain. Selah 3:6 I lay me down, and I sleep; I awake, for the Lord sustaineth me. 3:7 I am not afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about. 3:8 Arise, O the Lord; save me, O my God; for Thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek, Thou hast broken the teeth of the wicked. 3:9 Salvation belongeth unto the Lord; Thy blessing be upon Thy people. 4:1 For the Leader; with string-music. A Psalm of David. 4:2 Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness, Thou who didst set me free when I was in distress; be gracious unto me, and hear my prayer. 4:3 O ye sons of men, how long shall my glory be put to shame, in that ye love vanity, and seek after falsehood? Selah 4:4 But know that the Lord hath set apart the godly man as His own; the Lord will hear when I call unto Him. 4:5 Tremble, and sin not; commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. PSALM 5
5:1 For the Leader; upon the Nehiloth. A Psalm of David. 5:2 Give ear to my words, O the Lord, consider my meditation. 5:3 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God; for unto Thee do I pray. 5:4 O the Lord, in the morning shalt Thou hear my voice; in the morning will I order my prayer unto Thee, and will look forward. 5:5 For Thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness; evil shall not sojourn with Thee. 5:6 The boasters shall not stand in Thy sight; Thou hatest all workers of iniquity. 5:7 Thou destroyest them that speak falsehood; the Lord abhorreth the man of blood and of deceit. 5:8 But as for me, in the abundance of Thy lovingkindness will I come into Thy house; I will bow down toward Thy holy temple in the fear of Thee. 5:9 O the Lord, lead me in Thy righteousness because of them that lie in wait for me; make Thy way straight before my face. 5:10 For there is no sincerity in their mouth; their inward part is a yawning gulf, their throat is an open sepulchre; they make smooth their tongue. 5:11 Hold them guilty, O God, let them fall by their own counsels; cast them down in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against Thee. 5:12 So shall all those that take refuge in Thee rejoice, they shall ever shout for joy, and Thou shalt shelter them; let them also that love Thy name exult in Thee. 5:13 For Thou dost bless the righteous; O the Lord, Thou dost encompass him with favour as with a shield. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hebrew Transliteration 5:1 lamnatsêach 'el-hannechiyloth mizmor ledhâvidh 5:2 'amârayha'aziynâh Adonay biynâh haghiyghiy 5:3 haqshiybhâh leqol shav`iymalkiy vê'lohây kiy-'êleykha 'ethpallâl 5:4 Adonay boqer tishma`qoliy boqer 'e`erâkh-lekha va'atsappeh 5:5 kiy lo' 'êl-châphêts resha` 'âttâhlo' yeghurkha râ` 5:6 lo'-yithyatsebhu holeliym leneghedh `êyneykha sânê'thâkol-po`alêy 'âven 5:7 te'abbêdh dobherêy khâzâbh 'iysh-dâmiym umirmâhyethâ`êbh Adonay 5:8 va'aniy berobh chasdekha 'âbho' bhêythekha'eshtachaveh 'el-hêykhal-qodhshekha beyir'âthekha 5:9 Adonay nechêniybhetsidhqâthekha lema`an shorerây hoshar [hayshar] lephânay darkekha 5:10 kiy 'êyn bephiyhu nekhonâh qirbâm havvoth qebher-pâthuach geronâmleshonâm yachaliyqun 5:11 ha'ashiymêm 'elohiym yippelumimmo`atsothêyhem berobh pish`êyhem haddiychêmo kiy-mâru bhâkh 5:12 veyismechu khol-chosêy bhâkh le`olâm yerannênu vethâsêkh `âlêymoveya`letsu bhekha 'ohabhêy shemekha 5:13 kiy-'attâh tebhârêkh tsaddiyqAdonay katsinnâh râtson ta`therennu |

6:1 For the Leader; with string-music; on the Sheminith. A Psalm of David. 6:2 O the Lord, rebuke me not in Thine anger, neither chasten me in Thy wrath. 6:3 Be gracious unto me, O the Lord, for I languish away; heal me, O the Lord, for my bones are affrighted. 6:4 My soul also is sore affrighted; and Thou, O the Lord, how long? 6:5 Return, O the Lord, deliver my soul; save me for Thy mercy's sake. 6:6 For in death there is no remembrance of Thee; in the nether-world who will give Thee thanks? 6:7 I am weary with my groaning; every night make I my bed to swim; I melt away my couch with my tears. 6:8 Mine eye is dimmed because of vexation; it waxeth old because of all mine adversaries. 6:9 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping. 6:10 the Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord receiveth my prayer. 6:11 All mine enemies shall be ashamed and sore affrighted; they shall turn back, they shall be ashamed suddenly. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hebrew Transliteration 6:1 lamnatsêach binghiynoth `al-hashemiyniyth mizmor ledhâvidh 6:2 Adonay 'al-be'appekha thokhiychêniy ve'al-bachamâthekha theyasserêniy 6:3 chânnêniy Adonay kiy 'umlal 'âniy rephâ'êniy Adonay kiynibhhalu `atsâmây 6:4 venaphshiy nibhhalâh me'odh ve'at [v]['attâh]Adonay `adh-mâthây 6:5 shubhâh Adonay challetsâh naphshiyhoshiy`êniy lema`an chasdekha 6:6 kiy 'êyn bammâveth zikhrekha bish'olmiy yodheh-lâkh 6:7 yâgha`tiy be'anchâthiy 'ascheh bhekhol-laylâh mithâthiybedhim`âthiy `arsiy 'amseh 6:8 `âshshâh mikka`as `êyniy `âthqâh bekhol-tsorerây 6:9 suru mimmenniy kol-po`alêy 'âven kiy-shâma` Adonayqol bikhyiy 6:10 shâma` Adonay techinnâthiy Adonay tephillâthiyyiqqâch 6:11 yêbhoshu veyibbâhalu me'odh kol-'oyebhây yâshubhu yêbhoshurâgha` |
