They're all pretty weak unless you've gotta host people with minimal clue.

They do not offer me the control I desire.

On that note, cpanel code is a mess but probably the most useful from a user's perspective. Plesk is pretty solid, I have not touched it since 2.5 but they've done good things since -- I would reccomend Plesk. I have no experience with ensim. If you are a hosting company, you may want to look at H-Sphere (www.psoft.net).

I did some time in the hosting industry, it probably took a few years off of my life.

If you're service is user-centric, then Cpanel is the answer.

I heard lot of good things about Plesk, but also had good references for CPanel, the last one as being easier to use than Plesk. Finally there's Ensim, which looks quite nice and Ensim Pro that looks more oriented to people offering hosting. I got to purchase one of them in the next days, and don't need anything top notch, just easy to use (I'm not experienced at server admin and I want to have my tech installing everything and then giving it to me to run from a control panel) and of course, secure. Few opinions, but looks like CPanel is the most preferred til now

all depends of your situation...
If you want to offer hosting, cpanel or, for bigger companies with more servers, H-Sphere.
If its just for your own pleasure, then webmin or plesk 2.5 (you can often buy licenses at www.webhostingtalk.com) will be just fine.

Webmin has the most features but is the least user friendly. But hey, it's free. You will probably have a lot of difficulties managing your server with webmin if you don't have much knowledge about unix.

cPanel/WHM is the most user friendly, everyone can manage a server with cPanel. It looks pretty, it's quite advanced, and it's quite expensive. It makes life for hosts and resellers a lot easier though.

I prefer to manage the server myself, all of the scripts mentioned above slow down the server somewhat, however lately ive been using servers with cpanel, it saves precious time no need for security and other updates cpanel does it automatic, so thats the one I would recoment, although know what your doing with either one of those, becuase if something goes wrong youll be fucked

Plesk 2.5? They just spammed me with info on the 6 beta not too long ago. 2.5 has a fair share of issues. I am quite familiar with hacking up 2.5 to make it much more useful... I feel an ulcer forming in my stomach thinking about it.
