Domain Registry Of America Snail Mail Fake BIll Spams

Man the more domains I own the more of this shit I get mailed.

Do any of you get this?

Its snail mail fake bill like registrations and I get them for every fucking one of my domains, my box is constantly getting these things. Literally filling up, and since its a po box, enough of these things and its falling out the back hahah

They look like bills to try and get me to renew domains, but not through my normal registrar, what the fuck?

I own quite a few domains and its getting out of hand.

Any clue?

Just called them and tried to get my info off the list, but have any of you else encountered this really aggrivating snail mail spam?

I used to get that all the time, PLUS I'd get phone calls at least once a week with people trying to sell me feeds or software or some shit.

I put fake info in the whois after that

I've gotten a couple of the but I don't personally have that many domains. Not sure what you can do, they are probobly just grabbing info from the whois lookups and spamming them.

How do you get away with that?

I had fake info, but some cock who wanted some of my domains kept sending 'fake who is reports'

and making me have to call and keep correct info so my registrar wouldnt release my domains.

All year long.

A client that I work with was spooked enough to send payment... so they're leeching into the Internic database for suckers that don't know the system.... ummm... which is most of them.

...I'm curious as to their sourcing to have the info out of that database early enough to send the snail mail to take advantage of it. Seems fishy to moi...

Yah, I just toss them. It's a shame they kill all those trees but I'm sure people who aren't in the industry fall for it repeatedly.

If it's the same company that keeps calling, ask them for their company address, phone and fax number and/or the company they are acting on the behalf of (if applicable) - pretend you're interested, but need to consult your business partner or some such crap.

Then email, fax and snail mail them to let them know that all future mailings and phonecalls will be accepted from them at a rate of $100 per hour or part thereof for phonecalls with a minimum charge of $250, and $250 per mailing or email. Let them know that you are recording the telephone call, and that all future calls will also be recorded.

Will this work? Don't know, they never call me back

One of the major companies got in a bit of hot water for sending such misleading mailings and was ordered to change the format of their advertising as not to look like an actual bill...

Ya might want to send one of the letters to the ftc and have them go after the company.

I get them too. I think it was either register.com or Network Solutions that got in hot water not too long ago for misleading domain owners like that.
