Would you vote for Bush?

In the upcoming election?

How many people here actually vote?

I give him my vote as being the biggest jackass fucktard idiot on the planet. He'll run the economy into the ground even more than currently, and he'll do it in the name of God at the same time. Just as long as we have a president with "morals". Maybe if you consider blowing up the world and destroying society as being a moral thing to do.

I love the distorted religious spin he likes to put on everything while doing his misdeeds. Makes me real glad to know such "moral" people have our best interests in mind.

I personally like the real republican philosophy...less government, lower taxes..it's the strangle hold the religious right has on the party that turns me off. They've turned the less government thing into a government just small enough to fit into your bedroom. I can't stand the government preaching morality.

I can find much I like and much I dislike in either the Republican or the Democratic party. The important thing I think is not to leave one party in power for too long. I wouldn't want 20 years of Democrats or 20 years of Republicans.

The system of division of powers as it was conceived and as it has developed is remarkable.

Vote for Bush? I have no idea at this point. Too early in his presidency to tell and depends on who he is running against. I like him much more than I don't at this point.

I think it's important to note that the idea is less SOCIAL government because in practice the Republicans make up for what they don't spend on social programs with military expenditures.

US government spending is always about 20% of GDP regardless of who is in office and that been remarkably consistent for at least the past thirty years.

I agree with you about the division of power, sometimes called gridlock, but I think it is a good thing...as it pretty much keeps things in the middle and being primarily a moderate the middle is where I like things to be.

How can there be "real right and left"? Times change. The parties adapt to voter preferences and vice versa.

The two party thing may be going the way of the dodo bird if W and company have their way. There's political motivation behind absolutely everything they do and it's all aimed at dismantling the democratic party and creating an unbeatable republican party for years to come. Every policy they try to enact is aimed at base of the democratic party. School vouchers aimed at disabling the teachers unions - a big base of the democratic party. Less government, less government unions - government unions are a big base for the democratic party. Tort reform - trial lawyers are a big contributor to the democratic party. The faith based initiatives...a move to take social programs out of the more liberal, community bases organizations and hand them over to conservatives. Getting involved in the Israeli - Palestinian conflict hits the democrats in another area of their base..the jewish vote. there's tons more I could list, but the point is they aren't developing policy for the purposes of their own belief in the goals of those policies, but as a sort of political WMD aimed at the heart of the democratic party. They're trying to rewrite the entire government to enable the republicans to hold on to power for years to come..and they are doing a hell of a job at it.

I think we can safely say the Republicans are REALLY in favor of faith based initatives and that they really think "liberal, community based organizations" would really be better off as "conservative, community based organizations".

Are you saying that conservatives are secretly liberals and in favor of a lesser influence of religion on American life?

I would certainly not say that public opinion polls don't influence policy but I think it's easy to overstate the case. Besides, I think policy should reflect public opinion. Don't you? That's a nice side-effect of republics. Well, maybe it's central.

I absolutely agree, but what I am saying is that W's administration is not pursuing their policies because of what their republicans want, but as a way of dismantling the democratic party. It's policy based on politics with one central goal...to keep the republicans in power for decades to come.

yes, best president since regan.

In a way I feel bad for him though. In 2000 it was obvious the economy was turning to shit with the internet boom over. And then 911, and people want to somehow blame one man for longterm economic cycles.

He will win the next election, but then after that it will be a bit harder for republicans because getting three terms in a row is not easy.

If Hillary somehow became president out of apathy, it would set this country back about twenty years. It would be nothing but scandals, and trying to push across extremely far left policies that alot of her own party dosent even want. 4 years of total gridlock.

Even Nader said it last time... Voting Green is voting for Bush. When there is a horrible incumbent Rebublican, it only makes sense for sane people to vote for the best Democrat option.

Green isn't going to suddenly win this year. Neither is Libertarian. Save your token vote for a year when it doesn't count. Unless you want Bush to win, that is.

THat stetment is so weak......... Bush would not have any of his "Toys" now if it were not for the research and Miltary of the Clinton Administration......Bush's toys did not just appear over night. Tehre were alot of improvements made in our arsenol under Clinton......He just chose not to use them for his own economic gain........Oh and also.........Clinton not only is the one responsible for the technology after the first gulf war.......but he did it while spending a hell of alot less on the military........Lets see better technology, and kept the militray budget down....

If he is re-elected, we will all be out of a job- or in prison.
His Attorney General is a guy who is so extreme that he had the statue of Lady Justice covered up because he found her breasts offensive. This is the chief law enforcement officer in our country and he's a religious fanatic. Ain't that great-
The only civil liberty that this crew cares about is the right to own a gun. Free speech will be a thing of the past- all in the name of the "Fight against terrorism".
But if you have to get out of this business, don't let the fact that unemployment is at a 9 year high worry you. Walmart is always looking for greeters.

oh please... the republican party had alot on their hands since they were elected...
Now, Christian groups are putting more and more pressure on Bush and remind him that its them that put him in power...

Jus wait and see!

They're trying to rewrite the entire government to enable the republicans to hold on to power for years to come..and they are doing a hell of a job at it.

haha, it sucks when the shoe is finally on the other foot, huh?

So true about our top law enforcement official. He is one scary son of a bitch. And it's people like him who are shaping policies and the enforcement of laws in this country. These are the people Bush has put his trust in. By the time the election rolls around, the economy will be drowning further in debt and unemployment while Bush's fat cat oil buddies are partying over the Iraqi conquest. By the way, where are those weapons of mass destruction? November 2004 can't come around fast enough for me. Hey Dubya, go fuck yourself and don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out of Washington.
