How much trouble to move a domain to Directnic?
I have some crucial domains that I have used since 1994 still at Network Solutions...
I would like to get these to Directnic but I have heard some very scary stories about domains being moved away from Network Solutions. These are key domains and I would be fuxored if they were down. Has anyone done this? How long woould it take and what problems are there to be expected? |

It should be fine, as long as you aren't changing the nameserver.
One thing I usually do before moving big domains is go to SnapNames.com and buy the snaps on the domains. Nothing has ever gone wrong, but it makes you feel better to know that Snap might get them if they dropped or something. In fact, if you have names from 1994, you might consider keeping the Snaps on them, because they email you everytime there is any change to the domain record. It's cheap insurance on something that might be worth $50,000 or more. |
