J$tyle$ is a marketing guru. he takes other peoples content, discounts it 80-95% then takes his cut. Who but him would ever have thought of marketing by by just massive discounting and spamming? A move of pure genius.

When the content is sold to fuck and no one wants to buy it anymore, he moves on to the next struggling content provider.

PURE GENIUS so

Leave my hero alone.

Who says One Lick is struggling? I approached Jonathan because I think what he is doing is a glimpse at the future of how content is sold.

You are trying to paint it like One Lick was showing weakness, so Jonathan pounced. Not true! I saw Jonathan doing big sales, One Lick's sales were slow, so I called him and asked him to promote my stuff. Pretty normal business I'd say.

Thats cool that you want to toss insults at Jon and myself, wrapped up in your cryptic, self serving posts. But it might come back to bite you in the ass. Like when you come crawling to Jon is 6 months asking him to save YOUR ass, and he tells you to GFY.

Maz no disrespect to you. I like your content and more power to you.

But it does not need a marketing genius to give an 80% discount and take a cuut himself. The clients you did sell to must be pretty pissed that one week they were paying xxxx and this week it's being sold out like boxes at a swap meet for x. Whether they stay with you in the future is to be seen.

And you are not even getting x for it because you now have another mouth to feeding off you. For spamming message boards and giving it away.

You do not need to give anyone a percentage if the level of his marketing talent is to give your content away at 80 to 95% off and spam it across the boards.

If I want to give away my content, I'm well capable of doing it myself. In fact have www.bargainbasement.com which is purely designed to sell sets at $5 to $15 each.

Jon
What am I jealous of?

That you did not take our content, discount it 90%, then take a probable 50% commission and give us what is left? Good joke.

You put up my sales 20 times, I'm no better off, and have a bigger bandwidth bill for the FTP. Plus my content is now worthless. You on the other hand are much better off.

Anyone who thinks this is the future of content sales on the net, is a fool. Because all it will mean is 100s of sites carrying the same content which has to be produced at a price. That will really switch on the surfer.

Sorry, I should have said BITTER.

You're BITTER because your business is in trouble and those Magazine sales will only help you surive for so long!

Your BITTER because you're AFRAID that your business will not bounce back.!

You're BITTER because there's a thread called "Paul Markam/Charly is an idiot"!

Your BITTER because you're getting old and the world is passing you by!

Your BITTER because there are 20 year old kids on GFY making more $$$ than YOU in a month; and YOU'VE been in business THEIR ENTIRE LIFE!

I can go on, but you get the point!

That you did not take our content, discount it 90%, then take a probable 50% commission and give us what is left? Good joke.

Read above AGAIN, and take a deep breath ... be honest with yourself, because it's obvious!

You put up my sales 20 times, I'm no better off, and have a bigger bandwidth bill for the FTP. Plus my content is now worthless. You on the other hand are much better off.

20 times?

LOL

This is why your business is suffering, and you come here to cry - you still don't get it!

Anyone who thinks this is the future of content sales on the net, is a fool. Because all it will mean is 100s of sites carrying the same content which has to be produced at a price. That will really switch on the surfer.

Ever heard of Walmart or Costco? I know your a foreigner, but - do you get the concept of HIGH VOLUME SALES in BULK at a lower price as opposed to HIGHER PRICES for individual items?

It makes sense if you have the ability to penetrate the market (no pun intended) especially with webmasters that are looking for more value in a slipping economy!

Basic common sense, dude!

OK, I'm a fool...

I have been in this business since '96. I have been in charge of creating and managing projects that have generated 10s of millions of dollars.

ICQ (261066603) me and I'll list my accomplishments for you before you make a complete ass out of yourself.

Just because I have only a few GFY posts, does not mean I am a newb.

I've been in the business since 1977, so I geuss I'm a few years in front of you in terms of experience.

And if you were so good at creating and manging projects why include someone else into your business to market a product by discounting.

I bought a new house this year cash, so sales are not so bad.

Yes I do feel bitter about getting old, but then with a wife 27 years my junior and a 16 month old baby I will put up with it.

That was very desperate, me bitter.

This is my 26th year a shooter. This set I shot back in 1989. Unfortunately don't have anything left from before then. Did a mass clear out sale in 1990, was sick of the content taking up space in my London studio. Was that stupid or what??

That set has sold over 20 times on the net and at $25 that is very nice on top of what it already made for me.

But I started as a model back in 1968.

Sorry but when someone uses my name to spam his content. Then he gives me the right to Spam in his threads.

*EDIT*
Whoops made a mistake there. It's not his content is it, he's just the marketing/discount jockey.

And if you were so good at creating and manging projects why include someone else into your business to market a product by discounting.
Man, you could have registered some great domains back then. How come you haven't retired yet? You must have made a lot of loot in 26 years.

BTW, I am not a salesman or a marketer. Never have been, never will be. I work for, or farm that out to people who I feel can get results.

If you feel you have the marketing skills to do it yourself, and squeeze out a little more profit on the back-end, good for you. It is not abnormal to use outside companies to market one's products.

I don't understand what your beef is. You have your style, other people have theirs. Just because someone does something different, doesn't mean you should start throwing insults around.
