Buying another notebook
Have you ever bought a used notebook online? If so where, and was it a good deal or a rip off?

I bought an iBook on EBay. (Say that 10 times fast.) I saved some money over getting a new one, but didn't get a warantee. It worked fine for 8 months, but a week before I needed to use it for what I actually bought it for (work while travelling), it started to act funny. Sure enough, it was dead by the time I needed it.
Personally, I would get a manufacturer refurb, but not a used machine from a stranger. I know the Apple store has deals on refurb equipment... others probably do the same.
