Using Outlook For Email?

I have been using outlook express for a long time now, but now i would like to switch to outlook.

I see its simple enough to transfer all my emails and contacts, but theres something that stumped me.

How do you switch accounts on outlook?

On outlook express i have maybe 6 different email acct's and i can switch back and forth to them all.

Does anyone know if this is possible on Outlook?

yeah, when you send an email, there is an "accounts" button with a down-arrow in the email itself. click, and check the account you want to send with.

it's next to the send button

theres no way to have seperate accounts? so that when i get my email, lets say i have:

[email protected]
and
[email protected]

Well i dont want to see them both in the same inbox, lol

With outlook express once you change accounts, it only shows inbox, sent, outbox, calander for that particular account.

Thats what id like to do.

Since express is a smaller version of outlook i imagine its possible.

if you don't find a way to do that then you can always create folders, and set up a filter for incoming emails

I think Outlook is designed to seamlessly deal with multiple email accounts, rather than sticking you with multiple inboxes etc.

Try this... Add all of your accounts. Then set up filters to move the mail from various accounts into different folders called "Inbox".

you can also click on options on the email to switch outgoing account, as well as do other annoying things like request read receipts, set importance etc.

the only way i know of to seperate accounts is with filters

Tools > Rules Wiz
or
Tools > Organize

also, here is an awesome add in for backing up your outlook file (best place is to a different computer over network share)

http://office.microsoft.com/download.../pfbackup.aspx

anybody know of any other cool add-ins?
