Iraq soldier arrested over child porn

The Ministry of Defence says a British soldier in Iraq has been arrested after child porn images were discovered.

The man is being questioned in Iraq by the Army's Special Investigations Branch and equipment has been returned to the UK for analysis, an MoD spokeswoman says.

"Unfortunately I can confirm that a soldier has been arrested over the possession of pornographic material," the spokeswoman said.

"As with all of these cases there is a Special Investigations Branch investigation. Equipment has been seized and returned to the UK for investigation."

The spokeswoman refused to reveal any further details about the soldier, who was arrested yesterday.
