Have you tried the inhaler?
I went through the gum, patch, etc. and never could quit.
But was successfull the first time I used the inhalers.

There's something about having something in your mouth (like a cig) that's giving you the nicotene instead of through the skin or chewing.

But in the final analysis, there is a difference in knowing you SHOULD quit as opposed to I WANT TO QUIT!

I just quit 2 weeks ago and I've made several failed attempts in the past. (Patch, Gum, Candy, etc.) What is working for the first time is Nicotrol (yes, that dorky looking plastic cigarette with those 10mg/4mg delivery cartridges you put in them. They are prescription only or you can order them from online pharmacies because they aren't a controlled substance and they work like a charm. Takes care of cravings as well as the "being used to holding the smoke in your hand and puffing on it"....

You can do it....just make it through the first 2 weeks and it's all cake after that...

been about 1 year for me, and I RARELY get a 2second urge....and it's nothing....

I did the patch for 3 days, then just went bare after that and it worked great...

Right on Sista! And I carried that cartridge holder (which looked like a white cigarette holder from the past) in my mouth everywhere I went..even with no cartridge! My system was so USED to having something in my mouth that it really HONESTLY did help! The first 48 hours were STILL hell..I'll not lie to you on that one..but there was no way I would have made it without the inhaler!

Have a funny story about the first time I used the inhaler though if anyone is interested. (Why would I ask a question like that on THIS board!!??

The best way... Cold turkey. It's been 4 days. I'm no longer addicted to Nicotine. I don't get cravings. I do get the, "I needa smoke when driving cravings" but those are just mental.
