Just saw it on the news
The Spanish Government is forbidding all dialers thru dialup conections to avoid fraud.
Will there be more countries soon to follow?

I hope no, but it's happening silently on some countries a bit different way... i.e. numbers get blocked, carriers do not deal with porn etc. Just fuck as dialers works very well in most European coutries. This is shame.

there are already few countries which dont accept data transfer trough commercial lines.

wonder how will ban in Spain affect egroup "nocc".

in Poland phone companies are making their antidialer software
(cause it was crazy here with dialers - no hard rules - to many with hidden terms and fees etc. etc.)

im surprised dialers still sell, i made a nice bit of money when they first came out, they sold like mad but then the FTC sued and i never even got all the money i made. so what kinda idiot pays per minute for porn??

maybe dialers sell cause users are horny and dont read all terms, prices and all other they just click "ok" "yes" "connect"

but when the phone bill is in mailbox - WOW

and then problems with payments, companies are down etc. etc.

Well i'm spanish and also own a spanish dialer company so i know what i'm talking about.
On October, the lines for any kind of service billed by phone will change, from 90X numbers to 80X. That will include some new prices, from 0.91? (the actual ones) to 2? per minute. This numbers are for sex, tarot, and general entertainment (TV shows etc). By now not any of that new numbers are allowed to be used for intenet billing, only are allowed to be used for phone calls (sex, tarot and general entertainment), but that doesn't mean that won't be any other number allowed. Dialers are not prohibited, just that by now, not any of that new lines are allowed to be used for it, but of course there are lots of ways to do it anyway, using international lines, etc, etc, also we need to wait for the goberment to finally give us a special number just for internet billing. This changes will start on October, lets see how this ends, but there is a lot of money in this bussines, millions and millions, so the line operators are pussing the goberment and we are not worried at all, the same happened in Italy some time ago and now even they can use the 2? per minute lines there so lets wait. Goberments love money, they will just try to avoid problems with the internet users asociations, but won't close this biz.
