we had more activity when there were affiliate programs with reps trying to make their mark and username superiority above others. now that affiliates are pretty much hit neutral and just surviving on the big webmasters they have after learning that was their bread and butter - boards like gfy became less useful.
Add to the lurkers and trolls who merely enjoy the idea of being on a porn message board and maybe seeing some tits while rubbing shoulders with those who make things happen. Finally who have those who made it big but now come back because of nostalgia and old friends they use to know.
What's increased is the attacks on each other at times - breaking rules and gfy tends to allow it more since it adds excitement and board activity which accounts for advertising dollars.Comment

This is absolutely true. Especially when it comes from one well established webmaster attacking another because he offered a competing service. One guy was discovered to be a fraud after he attacked the other guy's SEO service, then TheFraud whines to his friends and gets the other banned, tried to have the thread deleted but the GFY admin sends out a PDF of the thread to the guy that was banned so he can retaliate later. Was the most fucked up thing I've seen here.

This is the reason why I rarely post and I'm sure it's the same with many others. That feud between Paul Markham and the British guy who everntually got banned was ridiculous. If you are a regular poster here, you will almost certainly create an obsessive enemy or two eventually, and the mods seem to even encourage the drama for the reasons you stated (I do think in the long-run it's backfired on them though).
Also, a lot of the new adult sites being created and having success these days are AI porn sites, and the developers behind them often or usually have no previous background in adult and probably have never heard of this place.Comment
