Business Making sites non-nude only viable age verification solution for affiliates?

As an affiliate, it's surely going to be impossible to implement age verification for every visitor, and still keep your site profitable. If the likes of XVideos are saying it's impossible for them, then there's no way affiliates can do it.

It looks like most of the US will have age verification laws before long, and the entire EU will have them within maybe 12 months.

If you're based in some South American country perhaps, with webhosts outside the US, Europe, UK, Australia, Canada etc. then you might make a lot of money, but for the rest of us it seems to me that to keep onside of the law and avoid fines or legal problems, the only practical solution will be to make your sites non-nude. Of course, as these laws all differ in the wording and requirements, there's no guarantee that even that will be enough.

yea its the new normal. customers will adjust if there's no free porn to see anywhere.

if it does roll out across the entire internet, we'll all start making big money again. free porn fucked us in the first place.

Yeah, they will adjust by going to bing and watching all the free porn they want to.

I would be curious to see if affiliates could get away with building out a "trial" area, where they could age verify, for a fee, and then show explicit content that would then possibly convert into full subscriptions with their provider.

They would probably need to spend more money on infrastructure and hire a developer to put it together, but that might be something to look into.

nearly every affiliate program has a clause banning that in their TOS. you can't resell their content. of course the tubes do it so wtf...

Things change. Maybe affiliate programs will adjust their ToS to compensate for the drops in traffic otherwise?

one thing that porn has always succeeded at (and everybody still active here on gfy) is Adapt or Die.

oftentimes in the past creating the tech in the first place.

we got left behind when the mainstream investor money flooded into big tech. who can compete with billions?

now we are just riding the wave......

i keep up with new requirements and technologies, quickly deliver site owner requests when they come in, but otherwise i'm just surfing along collecting payouts.

Well, maybe, but I don't want to leave things to the last moment, like that British webmaster (of a pay site!) who posted a thread stating he was just STARTING to think about solutions the week before the UK Online Safety Act came into force.

As far as I can see for my own position in the EU, with age verification likely to come into force of summer next year, the safest option is probably to make new content SFW and have a plan to quickly make all existing content SFW if it is necessary to do so.

The problem with that is that even now most sponsors are not providing any SFW promotional material.

A good example, I think, of a pay site that has made its tour reasonably SFW and non-nude is GroobyVR: https://www.groobyvr.com/tour/catego...vies/1/latest/

Steven from Grooby is an FSC Board Member and very knowledgeable about AVS so thats not surprising.

The last time I looked at the actual language in the laws the answer was no. A lot of people here operate on hope and pray without even looking into what they are doing. When these politicians want to see you rot you should really check closely.
Stop asking me about AI, the answer is yes.
