I am not an expert but I run my site and make content for it since 2003.... I even used to go to conventions Las Vegas, Berlin and Prague ( mostly).. you could meet and discuss business with: modelling agencies, distributors and marketers from " far away" countries, fellow producers ( yes, I have even done a coproduction), tech companies pitching everything from cameras and the like to editing and other software, payment processors and even a few investors and on it went....
Then in about 2013.... new "beasts" shown up... affiliates, click thru add companies, dating crooks... and the "traditionals" had less and less to meet and talk about.. So I have stopped wasting time and money. A few years later OF chatter companies or similar has shown up and that was the end of the business as it was known...
I do NOT even know when it happened but everything is now " affiliate" conferences and even a chick with a cell phone in her bedroom who diddles herself is called a creator.
Look even here, everybody is selling recycled content and the new stuff is just ugly tattooed, plastic and botox enhanced women and "meat and potato" fucking not worth even looking at.
Over the years I have said here and elsewhere " content is king", but now there is very little of real content being created.Comment

Happens daily on the political section except they throw racist comments - attack each others personal business - do far greater damage and breaking GFY policies mostly being ignored. At least on XBiz you don't get away with that crap
The other difference is the other board verifies and vets members much more diligently than on gfy where anyone can put in the common about what website you own - google or gfy.
That being said I'm done with the political section here - don't need that crap and stress in my life. If we wanted to talk politics fine but if we make a habit of attacking one another without any clear argument - even when given an answer they still attack.
Don't need that in my life. Over here - I visit because when people ask good questions I will do my best to help and provide answers that will solve their problem.
