T1 / fractional T3 question

What are the prices like these days? I don't feel like filling out 50 forms at 50 different providers to get 50 different quotes. It's been a while since I dealt with anything besides residential DSL and my server, so I am a little behind the times. Can anyone throw some ballpark numbers at me and maybe recommend a provider(s)?

T1 probably in the range of $450-$800/mo depending on where you're at. A full or fractional T3 will most likely be at *least* $3000 monthly, upwards of $10,000.

T-1 is a dedicated 1.54 Megabit synchronous link to the ISP. How it gets choked mangled and aggrigated there is another question.

T-3 is 45 Mbit 28x more bandwidth

Thanks, it seems prices haven't really changed all that much.

Yeah unfortunately the dilemma with pricing is still that everyone has to rely on the local phone company to price the point to point connection and of course there are tariffs, etc.

Hey SpaceAce,

Contact Bigunns on icq. He currently works for Quest. I worked with him before at IBILL. He can give you a reasonable quote. Just tell him that I sent you.

Holla at me if you have any questions.

depends on your distance to the central office.. I have a full t-1 in Taunton, MA.. it's $999 / month -- closer to Boston is more like $400 - $600

Everyone needs a T-1 into their house ;)

T1 pricing - about $500 plus local loop charges
T3 pricing - about $10k/month plus install on a multi-year contract

There are a lot of different options now for people with a need for bandwidth. It all depends on where you need the circuit.

I have seen 100mbit Ethernet to your office for about $2k plus bandwidth charges.

Just get a 5mb DSL connection and save yourself alot of money.

Granted your upload speed won't be that great but d/l will be plenty fast.

How does satellite look for home office use? I used to have a cable connection back in Canada, and I was quiet happy with it, then I got something faster, but that?s beside the point. Now I have the option between DSL and Satellite, I also hear a T1 is incredibly expensive here in Germany for home use.
