yeah fuck you reading this bullshit anyhow

smack 05-29-2003 12:20 AM

jesus h. tap dancing christ. i knew metallica was getting old. but i can honestly say i didn't expect this massive pile of shit from them. they need to just give the fuck up. :ak47:

Amputate Your Head 05-29-2003 01:16 AM

Buckfutter,

it's all subjective anyway. My tastes don't match your tastes, and yours don't match mine. And they probably never will. Nothing you say will ever convince me that death metal has any merit whatsoever. Nor does rap. I hate country music, but it's far more advanced than most of the rap bullshit being pumped across the airwaves today.

But honestly, does it really matter? If I go to your house, I'll be polite and put up with whatever you have playing. And if you come to mine, you'll listen to what I have playing. When we go our separate ways, we can each bitch about the other.

My opinions stand as my opinions. Sabbath sucks. They sucked then, they suck now. Don't like it? Too bad.

Regards,

Amp

I like this song and the video...and if you dont like it dont judge the whole new album on one song....most of you would say it sucks no matter what cause you "old schoolers" are so hardcore that you cant accept things have changed over the last twenty years because you haven't. I keep hearing james got a haircut metallica sucks...do you look the same as you did 20 years ago? maybe you do. Oh yay sabbath rules too I'm going to see ozzy next week!

d0se 05-29-2003 02:41 AM

fuck them they killed napster. c u n t s.

flashfire 05-29-2003 03:04 AM

p2-p file-sharing programs are and will kill porn too...If a webmaster launched a lawsuit against kazza for giving all there content away free we wouldnt say shit about it. Tons of others were in the metallicas lawsuit aswell including Dr. Dre and his label but they dont have the balls to come out and say it.

Theo 05-29-2003 03:08 AM

Metallica turned to shit long time ago. I can't convert them at all. No hits, no decent tours.

galleryseek 05-29-2003 03:17 AM

give um a break. they busted out some crazy badass shit in their early days... and toured straight, year after year after year... i dont give a shit who you are, eventually, the sound will get OLD. i'm a guitarist of 9 years, and tastes change when you're a musician... the ordinary listener can't really comprehend it. its just like with design, or anything else that entails creativity, you're continually changing, and leading in a direction you think is "better", or in metallica's case, leading into a direction that is more suitable with the current times. yeah, they are probably in it for the money, they will probably gain a lot more younger fans with this stuff, fuck it though, they wanna make money they wanna make money, i would too. i wouldn't worry about whining arrogant fans.

as far as st. anger the song goes, its a LOT better than the shit on load and re-load.. i actually heard a few influences within the song from their earlier days.. but the song isn't obviously as pleasing as their earlier stuff. but st. anger is the one mainstream song on the album, i still have hope that perhaps the rest of the stuff on st. anger is better (more oldschool)

we'll see.

troublesome (2pac/outlaws)

it's enough he said to erase metallica from your memory once and for all!

ohio must have more metallica fans than any other state. It's like SARS in Canada :glugglug

hah, bs, metallica will never die as one of the best bands. :winkwink:

for some extra money and publicity for me n' my friend's real band, we're creating a side project band thats gonna cover metallica (battery, master of puppets, blackened and a few others), slayer and anthrax.

it will be fun.

Theo 05-29-2003 03:32 AM

this sounds fun :)

All bands reach a peak. Metallica had black album, Stones had exile on main str.
Creating masterpieces all the time is far from possible in music scene.

galleryseek 05-29-2003 03:48 AM

however... "YA FLUSH IT OUT, FLUSH IT OUT" is extremely gay, and i'd like to kick their asses for putting that in as lyrics.

Ride the Lightning was their best record ever. After Master of Muppets I lost interest because they sounded more and more like a fucking disco band.

I went on to more extreme noise like

I saw them 3 days back to back in 94, that was the last time I could stand seeing them live.

If I formed my opinion of Metallica based on buying their records and going to see them live, I think thats enough to form a solid opinion of them and their sound. The last album I truly loved was Master Of Puppets, didnt like the Black one at all, and Justice was okay. Despite that I STILL went to see them multyiple times after those, but their live presence is what makes me think they suck now.

The last time I saw metallica they were playing with Faith No more, and Guns and Roses. (At the Lousiana Superdome)

Faith No More was better, hetfield had a hurt voice and couldnt sing. Mike Patton was much more entertaining than Hetfield live, and I saw them 3 days back to back bro.

Dont let the 'old schooler' comment get you to hot, I was simply fucking with the young uns around here.

Anyway, they havent impressed me in years, and thats my opinion.

I do and I got flamed for it a few weeks ago. Metallica sold out when they started making videos.

Ozzy hasn't sold out? You have to be fucking kidding me. Sharon built him, now she's destroying him for the sake of money.

Everywhere you go, Ozzy dolls, movies, teen girl shirts, TV shows, Pepsi commercials. All for money.

Fucking 12 year old Britney Spears loving girls now like Ozzy.

Sure, Metallica is selling out more and more with every album. Compare what they're doing with what Ozzy has been doing lately and you'll find another sell out.

The first season I enjoyed The Osbournes even though I knew it was just the beginning. The second season makes my stomach turn. Editing up the ass... typical MTV bull shit. Was watching some MTV crap last night with my roomie and I had to leave the room, couldn't take it anymore.

Black Sabbath. There is no other.

Yes, of course I have. It's still shit.

Too much drums and weak attempts at singing, not to mention terrible lyrics. Not enough guitar. No solos.

beavis 05-29-2003 09:35 AM

Ozzy, old Sabbath and the old Mettaillca rule...........

thats weird... even though i've never made it out to a metallica show myself, i've heard from everyone that has gone to a metallica show that they do the best live performances, and do a lot of the early stuff everyone loves...

I saw them 3 years ago at a race track in Chicago. They played everything, even the new songs, old school style. Was incredible.

Seeing them again in August at the LA Coliseum. It will still be a great show and definitely something to remember.

flashfire 05-29-2003 04:19 PM

Metallica had 4 shows last week and it was all old shit and two new songs that were both heavy as hell....Metallica has become the band people love to hate but its still kick-ass music in my opinion...more people will go to see metallica in concert this year than anyone else...they have sold out the summer sanitarium in all US and Canadian cities they are visiting and they hit denmark and the UK next and I assume the same will be true.

Ha ha. They are a pretty good band. I honestly never heard of them until someone posted one of their songs on here (it was either Fletch or Labret), a cover of an old Venom tune.

I've been downloading all their songs I can find on Kazaa.

not back then.

they were trying to feed us that NOTHING ELSE MATTERS shit.

im sure now they do nothing but the classics, trying to keep that fan base no doubt.

I rather listen to Bob Seger than their version of it

funny thing is, no matter how shitty metallica is they will always sell a lot of records, be a big band, new fans who are used to shit radio music like disturbed, linkin park, creed ect will embrace them im sure. the metallica i loved is long dead, and it was expected, i mean its hard for a band to keep up the same kind of consistant quality for over a decade. justice i loved, the black album was ok but i knew it was all over then. im surprised that so many of you are surprised how much the new metallica sucks, i just assumed it would.

as for sabbath, well musical taste is all matter of opinion but without them heavy metal as we know it would most likely not exist. they were doing shit almost no one was doing back then, and the sound on the sabbath cds is rough, for sure but the quality of the songwritting/playing ect is killer, the first 5 sabbath cds are gold. as for ozzy, i lost a lot of respect for him when he started doing that osbournes shit. he was a great solo artist and i bet sabbath were kicking themselves for giving him the boot but even now, his cds are mediocre, at best. blizzard of oz and diary are classics but his latest cd, just wasn't that great.

true, but i know if metallica wanted to, they could bust out their oldschool style, and even better. but its all about $ now so they aren't doin that.

flashfire 05-30-2003 01:18 AM

Their new CD isnt commercial at all...its all heavy, dont judge a CD that hasnt come out yet, I guarantee that this one will not be a "radio friendly disc" The songs are all 6-7-11 minutes long and all heavy no slow songs, just listen when it comes out if you think its sucks well thats your opinion.
