It's funny how all you jealous newbies don't know shit about who these people are. Have you ever fucking met them? Then how do you know what these guys are all about and how much they make? Have you seen their stats? Paychecks? Have you enrolled in their program? From what I have heard, the guys at AWS are successful TGP'ers and make their money through paid submissions and banner spots on the Hun. The top gallery listings are usually paid ones and I have seen some of their galleries (most of them are movie galleries) and they are pretty good.
One of the guys even posted his stats on AWI a while ago and they were pretty impressive.

OK look...Suppose the major TGPs get 15 million uniques per day in total(since we know that 1 person can visit more then 1 TGP per day). Most of those people already signed up for a porn site so let's say 1 in 5000 sign up for someone's sponsor. Suppose there are 1000 webmasters(there are definetly more) submiting and each webmaster gets 40$/per signup. So there are 3000 signups per day comming from TGPs a total of
120,000$ per day paid out to TGPers (I think I'm going overboard here). So if there are 1000 gallery builders that's a a 120$/per day avarage and if you look on their site they promise earnings of 200$ per day. Suppose they bring in 1000 new people then the avarage earnings will drop to 50$/day/person. and I'm sure there are over 1000 people per day posting so the avarage is even lower....
Now this is just a rough estimate but I never rounded down I rounded up.
If I have any errors here please correct me.

Get to know them and the program, then bash 'em if they deserve it. Or praise 'em for that matter. Look at it this way: if they teach their students how to build good galleries, then they will get listed. If you are worried about them squeezing you out, take the class, lol.

I agree,I wish I had this kinda thing when I started. I had to go to Ynot, Pornresource and Tom's Newbie Booster. What I found was ok, but hadn't been updated since 1996. Not only did I have to assemble bits and pieces from 100 different newbie sites just to learn, I shit you not, one of the current tutorials at these free newbie sites said, "There's a new type of site called a TGP..." ROTFL!

I don't have a problem with people coming up with a new way to make money.....in time, I'm sure I'll wish I thought of it first..:-)
The reality is....if you work hard and smart..and be consistent..there's money to be made. Good money. We started with $8.00 a week. My education in this industry came from my partners who have been around for six years. I had excellent teachers, which saved me from many newbie mistakes.
All the newbie boards in the world don't replace hands on teaching. If this school has a hands on approach and teaches folks how to get past that first year, then good for them.
Maybe they'll be in Vegas, Boneprone...and, I can meet them in January....

My final numbers are accurate since there are more then 1000 gallery builders. Also the porn industry of course makes alot more then 120,000$/day but I think it's a pretty accurate number to describe the total money gallery builders make per day. Remember alot of it goes to TGP webmasters themselves and free hosts. Those people are not going to squeeze anyone out but they are going to be more or less the same as everyone. So each person will make less.

I've been working/learning in this biz for 3 years and I'd have to say the worst temptation for me is starting new projects... If this program could cure me of spreading myself too thin then I think it's rather cheep. I have enough scripts and shit to last me a life time (that's why I stay away from Sears power tool section). But I have something the newbie doesn't, I'm use to working 18 hour days 6 days a week (I know I love my work Any way.... I'll drop a message off here to let you know what I find out...

Yes my graphics came from the geocities clip art section. I guess that makes me a bad guy. But I needed some graphics to throw up until I get shit done. Now for the webmaster school. I really don't think that the SITE can teach a dog to sit. Not very many people anymore can teach a dog to sit. But anyways being my curious self I went ahead and signed up for the site. This thing was built for buttheads that don't know how to use a computer. Now I don't know what is really considered a "newbie". I personally am part of the new generation that has been ignored. I started using a computer when I was five. I was using DOS version 2.0 when most old fuckers were scared that the demons would eat them if they touched a computer. Now at the age of sixteen I got an E-mail. It said get your own adult site free. It was basically a mirror page for some piece of shit pay site. And I would get %50 of all sales. Now I must tell you that Spam was not illegal at this time. And being the brilliant fucker that I was I spammed EVERYTHING. After two months I got a check in the mail and my mother thought I was dealing drugs or some shit. So I knoed it off until about a year ago. And I am kicking myself for it because I would be the big as shit motherfucker that everone begs for some piece of shit traffic. Now I am twenty years old with a H.S. Degree and don't give a shit whether or not I go to college. I have a full time job that make me 30K a year. And I am still able to average one or two signups a day. Now if that makes me a newbie then oh well I don't give a shit. Oh and if these guys can teach a dog to sit then I am happy for them. But as far as the fundamentals to be any sort of webmaster. I don't think they existed on the site when I took a look. Now I have typed so much that I don't know what you said anymore. I must stress that I am not angry I am just trying to get my God given opinion out to the masses.

I have no idea why, but I am guessing that surfers don't like entering their credit card in CCBill's ugly ass signup form that is as customizeable as a piece of dog shit. Talk about pasting your referral code and such! All those other newbie sites generate revenue from advertising. And guess what, the companies with the biggest $$$, get the best spot. So really, what the other newbie boards are saying to their newbies is, "Welcome newbie...we suggest you use so and so sponsor or hosting company...they aren't the best, but they sure gave us a lot of money so we'll tell you they are the best!"
AWS doesn't do that -- they are totally unbiased and only recommend companies that they have personal experience with. In my opinion, the newbie is *saving* time and money by going with a sponsor that converts, rather than wasting time and money going to one of these other places and using a sponsor that is 1:5,000,000 (and uses CCBill as a billing company, lol).

Now I have earned the right to give constructive criticism so here it is::
AWS - In their resource section they have a list of some pretty cool programs and other things that well THE FUCKING LINKS WERE BROKEN. They have a page that is for submitting to TGP's. The list is way to incredibly short. And a couple of the links don't work there either. In the section that talks about the TGP's on the list they mention how much traffic each can send. The last time I checked Snakes World would not send 15 million uniques. I can go on and on about shit there but I think it is way to silly. I personally give the site 1 out of 5 stars.

Look, at 1 or 2 singnups a day, I wouldn't say shit if I were you, especially since there are newbies in AWS not 3 weeks old making far more than that, ROTFL. Let me put that another way: You are criticizing them for something that works, yet you aren't doing nearly as well as half those students there. A little bit of hypocrisy don't you think?
BTW, they post to those 30 TGP's you criticize so much. I bet you are one of those pathetic Webmasters that spend their whole day submitting to every TGP on WayCool, only to be stoked when those 900 TGP's send you about 5 uniques combined a year. Anyone with common sense knows to maximize his/her time. Be efficient!
And yes, the other sites *do* make you pay by telling you to use sponsors that aren't the best. I would rather pay and get unbiased advice than not pay and succumb to advertising bullshit. Think about all the hosting and content costs you blow through when you aren't using the best converting sponsor! Or how much $$$ you waste when you want paid hosting and end up paying $10/GB because those other boards told you that was the cheapest (but they were paid to say that).

I am an AWS student and I guess you could consider me a "newbie adult webmaster."
This is not my first trek into the world of web design as I am experienced...just my first attempt at breaking into the adult market
I stumbled across the salon.com article about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I had been interested in starting up an adult web site for some time but had a few unanswered questions and it seemed as though the guys at AWS might be able to help.
Well help they did.
I began to submit my first galleries just a little over a week ago and had my first sale yesterday. Is this an overnight success story? LOL..not yet.
However I feel that with their help I do have an advantage over the next guy who decided just 3 weeks ago that he/she wanted to do this as well.
My first galleries were okay, but they were good enough to get accepted by Persian Kitty, The Hun AL4A as well as a number of others. I was seeing some serious unique numbers from these sites but in the beginning very few click throughs.
I asked for help on the AWS message boards as well as checked out other messages for help and read the advice given to those members and applied it to my galleries. My click throughs increased.
Still no conversions. So I tweaked a little bit more, and followed their message boards and learned a couple of more tricks and the click throughs increased until I got my first sale. I have never been so happy or proud of $35.00 in my life...lol.
These guys are interested in showing people how to do this with as little investment in time and money as possible but are clear at least in my mind that if you want more success you have to put more effort into it.
They have also been helpful in other areas I wasn't even considering.
I began hosting my galleries on my own paid host which was a virtual server that limited my bandwidth to 5 gigs a month with a fee of $12.00 per gig after that.
I never even considered the amount of traffic that these galleries would pull and because of a warning they posted to another member about his paid hosting I learned about what could have been an extremely costly mistake on my part.
So what was the solution after looking for hosting on the net that would be more cost efficient.
These guys hooked me up on a deal that would blow your minds. This deal to my knowledge is good only for the members of AWS and you would have to go through the guys there in order to get it.
Anyway. There is still alot left to learn and I plan on utilizing every source out there including boards like this one. These guys have just given me a hell of a good start in the right direction.

i couldnt find anything new there - just a few tips how to get traffic from tgps - so i quit and i felt like a dumb stupid newbie because i wasted $39.
but on the other hand these guy where smart enough not to rebill my cc, thats the only positive impression i´ve got, but maybe they have more useful content on their site now - who knows ?
