George BUSH did not receive half of the whole fucking country, he did not even receive as many votes as the loser of the election. He did however win the electoral college.

I know they don't teach shit about Canadian government in U.S. schools but I thought the canadians were more enlightened. At least that is what I am told over and over and over and over. I would think that if the freedom and security of our country depended almost solely on our proximity to another country, we would learn how they elected their leaders..eh?

I think the point the person was trying to make is that a significant number of Americans voted for Bush.

Herein lies the problem:

If the number of people that voted for Bush is significant, that makes the number of people who didn't vote for Bush, and the number of people that voted for Gore, even MORE significant.

That might be true if the percentage that voted for Gore was significantly more than the percentage that voted for Bush, but it wasn't.

Its a republic. it is not a democracy. pretending something illegal happened is silly.
The election happened and the proceedures governing it took effect.
Liberals want to pretend it was something underhanded but thats how they vent when they lose.

My statement was just an example of "fact". I am not a liberal and I don't have any problem with the way the election turned out. Do I think the smarter of the two is in office.. nope. Do I think that GW is a good president..nope. Would I rather have Clinton..yep. You do realize Bush won on election night and all the recounts. If Gore was president, we would have a president elected by the courts. Not the other way around.

The supreme court should have not been involved, but the banana republic florida supreme court made up soley of 7 democrat justices overstepped their powers.
