Aye, Steinbeck was one of the first 'proper' writers I read as a kid growing some. Always thought he never wastes anything. A journalistic scalpel.
Not to pretend any highbrow reason for the choice. It was partly due to the cartoon characters George and Junior. But mostly because of a Bugs Bunny short.
