Comfortable new car? Opinions wanted
We're looking for a new car, one that's comfortable to sit in for longer periods of time and nice ride (preferably good in snow).
We had a couple Explorers in the past but the new ones are pretty cheap/uncomfortable feeling compared to the ones we owned. Been going to dealer lots, burying my nose in consumer reports, edmunds, epinions, etc.. but all it's doing is making my head hurt.. Seat and ride comfort are important to me - should also be 4WD/AWD since winters here churn out a bunch of snow and I live in a hilly area. The more thoughts, ideas or recommendations the better. Have at it. Thanks! ![]() |

If the SUV market is still appealing to you I would look at he Grand Cherokee LTD
Since Daimler has purchased Chrysler the fit and finish has improved substancially. The leather is od similar grade of that found in an m-benz. ( all you flame bags better do some research before you start doubting me) The V8 power is powerful and still very refined IF the price is not of concern The New Land Rover Range Rover is a very nice vehicle that gives you the high end Luxuary ammenities and the top tier 4 wheel capability |

If you have the cash, buy the Range Rover. Go for a 98-99 for a cheaper option, most will still have warrantee. Nothing matches up in the snow, I have some home movies of RR fun if you want to see. All the new MB's with that 4-wheel fun stuff handle really nice too. Domestic options: the whole Yukon line is great, just good quality cars.
Can't say enough about the Range in the snow though, for comfort, quality, value, performance, and name recognition, def check out a Land Rover Range Rover! ![]() |
