this is getting ridiculous, another skype rant

ok, so I think this whole AI thing is super cool

def changing the landscape but when has the world been static? life has always been about adaptation

now though...trying to set up a show with a client earlier and skype kept asking me for prompts in ('professional', 'funny', casual', 'witty' etc etc) style every time I started to reply to a message

sorry, I can write to my own fucking clients myself. and at the risk of sounding self-aggrandizing I am a FAR better writer than some machine who doesn't know me, nor my clients, or the relationships and histories we share

it's called personality. shared humour. using slang at times cuz it's ours. my last dude tonight is Dutch (second time it happened). he's taught me some slang and fun swear words in his lang over the years (though also fluent in English)

AI wouldn't rec his slang or mine, it lacks nuance regarding how people who know each other actually interact. yet tries to impose itself every time I wrote a reply?

let alone half of discussing the particulars of a session would be blocked by AI. requesting to eat cum off a plate in a CEI show? yeah...

just stupid bullshit to scroll past to reply to my people in my own words

AI is cool but it like it's trying to force its way into my social interactions in an unwanted/unrequested manner. let me have my own fucking convos in my own words without interference por favour

mucking up ever line of a reply with the AI 'suggestions' cuz I'm apparently too lazy to think when conversing with a colleague or client

no, pretty sure I know what I want to say, thank you very much. kindly fuck off

someone bring back the carrier pigeon. smoke signals won't work internationally

    end rant

gracias, (and esp for our convo this week on a diff issue) but the point is I don't want AI when talking to people, it's the antithesis of what I provide to my clients. or colleagues, or overseas friends (thank gawd whatsapp hasn't gone there-yet)

I just want to have that crazy old-fashioned thing called real convos between real people

moving my entire skype client list to another platform not really an option, who knows how many I'd lose?

ugh, just frustrating. at least give us a choice to disable that ish

I can scroll past it to reply myself, in my own words, but why that hassle? every fucking message, scroll down to post my own words, from my own head. past inane AI suggestions on 'tone' and reply options

this attempt to dumb people down is annoying and a hindrance to real connection, in work and in personal life. pisses me off

anyway, whatever, not gonna get all het up over it. is what it is. another example of why my favourite word is 'resist'

to reiterate, I find AI fascinating and super-cool. just give us a fucking choice on where and when to use it

appreciate y'all see there's something weird and wrong going down here. this ish is like a cranial pacifier. don't think...let the machine do the work

I will never online in any capacity let a machine write stuff for me

there will be a resistance for free HUMAN expression. even in this thread I'm obvs not the only one who finds this troublesome

I'll be front of the line to donate to the cause

this message (written after my client tonight oinked like a good little sissy piggie getting fucked by my 10 inch strap on, on cam and virtually licking another man's cum from my tatas) brought to you by Chat GPT

that was the first thing I checked, for some sort of 'turn this shit off' option

              nada

reinstalled skype and yeps, sure enough it's there now...bottom option in the 'messaging' section of settings

I swear on the lives of my screamy little cats it was NOT there before

lol, another microsoft glitch...and we're supposed to trust them with our words/thoughts?

to anyone else who doesn't see the option, reinstall skype. after reading your post I looked around online and reinstalling was a recommended method. it worked. doesn't seem to be an issue on skype for web...yet. love that microsoft has forgotten to fucking that up too with all their 'updates'

              gracias Sly, much appreciated!

Actually I am really liking Microsoft lately. I switched to Macs back in 2007 or so, but most of my mainstream clients I do network support for are running Windows. Today, my home work environment is made up of a mix of both Apple and PC's.

Windows 10 was a really good upgrade, and Windows 11 is even better. It is really stable and pretty fast. And as a Mac user, the GUI is more intuitive. The only thing I hate is all of the bloatware that comes with it. Even doing a clean install, you should take the time to get rid of all of the garbage stuff that you don't want. It even spends alot of time communicating with Microsoft which is something that can be disabled too if your Internet bandwidth is limited.

                  Happy Microsofting!

anyway, prob solved and there's always the web version

but I find vid calls don't have the greatest vid quality on that

anyway, thanks Sly (and Klen who turned me on to web version for audio/text convos)

The AI apps are ridiculously annoying, I agree. It could also dumb-down the AI employed by always suggesting prompting for generic answers.

And the most annoying promotions are the “AI chat bots” because they’re still a manual operator that is just managing up to four fake profiles a time using different GPTs for making images, replies, and videos. They all need the human editor to add the dirty parts and to reply with a final version to the clients on the different platforms, even with automation tools.

Videos everywhere claim it’s easy and services everywhere have widely different pricing, but its all a sham. AI kicks ass, but it has a limit.
