Thank you to all those that have served in our forces !

I took the girls to see the replica of the Vietnam Memorial that is in Grass Valley through tomorrow evening.

The tribute is abut 4/5ths the size of the orginal Memorial in Washington Dc. The replica is 378 feet.

My father served in the United States Army during the Korean War and stayed in the Army Reserves to the rank of Colonel. He's buried at Arlington National Cemetary. If you are ever traveling through Washington DC, take a moment and drive through Arlington. Its a very beautiful, special and tranquil place. You can't appreciate how many soldiers died for our country until you see the endless sea of tombstones here.

Every day I am grateful that there are those who are prepared to sell out their individuality to wage war for the rich, power hungry politicans and muti-national corporations.

Every democracy needs fresh meat prepared to die for the system. I feel terribly lucky that there are so many men with severe masculinity issues who feel the need to express their manhood through uniforms, guns and the mythology of war.

I was reading this thread and was wondering whether some asshole would take the opportunity for a cheap shot against our veterans and serviceman.
