FED, banks, and govt will pump up the dollar all year, we might even see some sort of stimulus closer to the election. the economy will be propped up until after the election, then the vapor will dissipate.

so 24 will be fine but it will be all on credit. i'd prepare for the next one. whoever wins the US election, the "world" as we know it will probably end.

My clients sales are up - perhaps you need to adjust your strategy ahead of time for the possibility of difficult months. Yet over the years I've heard sales are down because - "it's christmas or it's a holiday or summer everyone is out - from back to school to tax seaon everyone attempts to create a false narrative on low sales. NOTE the world does not operate on American calendar or events.

Now January on a webmaster side is difficult because many are at a trade show.

Well, America is still the #1 market for online sales so when the US sees a slump, even if the rest of the world is 'normal', it still reduces sales significantly.

As for the trade shows: there are no 'webmasters' there like me. LOL Trade shows are filled with Billers, Cam Studios, Traffic Brokers and Dating shills. The sales that come from these places roll on regardless of the shows.

No, this January is worse than any since 2014 (according to my years of sales stats).

When most of the sales come from America, the word does run on the American calendar. And there are no webmasters at trade shows lol. Are you even in this business?

I've had the privilege of knowing Legacy for quite some time, and he is a very valuable source of information and insights to his clients. It would greatly benefit you to take into account what he freely offers here and consider listening to his perspective.

As for the January sales slump, of course it will be different for everyone. If your sales usually drop in January, it could be due to slow traffic and less interest, but it could also be due to the fact that your own product has not been refreshed since December. Any service provider can boost their sales back up by offering some new content, or discount, or both. Even boosting sales and marketing can easily help.

The only ones who would know for sure if sales drop in January, are the payment processors, as they see ALL of the data at a glance. If your sales are down, call your CCBill rep and ask him if it is typical or not.

Glad you find his insights valuable but I tend to find his posts a bit out of touch, more general in his comments like some AI bot. No thanks. You mentioned relying on your own 15+ years of experience in sales and statistics. However, this approach has a flaw. Despite accumulating over a decade and a half of experience, it essentially offers you a sample size of just one porn site (or just one porn company, or just one porn producer, you). In simpler terms, your perspective is based solely on the statistics of a single company or person, rather than drawing insights from multiple businesses (a larger and more diverse sample). In contrast, TheLegacy by default, possesses a larger dataset on pornsite traffic and sales than you do, and therefore, his opinion may matter more than yours. You can learn from him. Even experts can learn from other experts my friend.

Additionally, if you've been collecting statistics for 15 years, you may have observed a historical pattern of sales slumping in January. I am not interested in getting into a pissing match with someone who has twice the experience I have yet still somehow manages to offer simple generic advice I can find on any forum, chat room or AI generator. You say your clients do not see sales drops in January yet do not mention who your clients are (see what I mean by generic?) so who knows if they even operate paysites, are into cams, do EPC or PPC ad buys, etc etc. So is your perspective helpful on this topic - sales drop in January - I say no when all you offer is "Sales don't drop for my clients". Ok woohoo for you and your clients. LOL

I'm sure he is an 'expert' on many things related to this Industry but for this topic his posts in this thread have NOT been helpful to me nor I suspect anyone.

As for asking Billers etc: I run almost 100 paysites and four Affiliate Programs. I have stats going back years for all these properties and I am saying THIS January is unusual. Is it a skewed persepctive I alone share with my myopic view of only my stats? Obviously not, thus this thread.

And finally I appreciate your helpful suggestions on how to increase traffic but if I have survived all this time don't you think I have done all you suggest and 10x more? Besides, I didn't say this was a traffic issue. Traffic is about the same, even up a little. Again it's about conversions and actual sales being down.

So here's a question for you: Can you look at your data, all of your traffic, all of your sales etc, and see if you can't find out why sales are slower in January? We can all take guesses at the reasons why, but since you have that data, what does it tell you? What CAN it tell you?

If you want to share it with me, I can help you to figure it out. I'll even sign an NDA or some other agreement if you want. It could be really interesting...

Nothing secretive about it really but you have to have enough consistent volume to make sense of any such data. But what the data tells me is THIS January is especially slow compared to previous years. This is unusual (for me and my business) so I had to go outside the normal data set to get a clue.

Short answer: due in part to Covid fatique people spent like drunken sailors in 2023 on travel, credit cards, gifts, etc. But the overall economy is down so there is no room for these people to recover quickly as in past years. So they spend less.

Well, maybe it is Covid related, but are you sure?

If I were you I would look at the following:

- Is my traffic volume more or less the same?
- Are my traffic sources the same?
- Is the frequency of my new content publishing the same?
- Is the quality of my new content the same level as previous content?
- Has the interests of my customers shifted? (Are you asking them?)
- Do my customers have about the same amount of disposable income as they have in the past?
- Is there new types of content (Instagram / TikTok) they are more interested in?
- Are my competitors out-performing me? If so, how?
- Is my website under-performing in SEO?
- Etc...

My point is that yes of course, Covid is probably partially responsible. Some people lost work, others are spending more money on other things, probably lots of babies were born post-covid and now parents have new costs associated with those little buggers, etc. But since you have all of that data, don't you owe it to yourself as an employee of your own company to dig through it? Maybe you will find something out that you can fix, and then boost your sales.

Sorry to press you on this - I love data. If I were you I would be buried in those numbers all nigth long. (Sorry ladies!)

All great questions and points! I too like digging into data but sometimes I get overwhelmed with numbers, numbers, numbers....lol

But all excellent points. In fact, these are things everyone should be focusing on regardless of the time of year or the sales volume.
