Annoying Spam filters that reject your emails

I've been trying to contact some websites recently and all my emails that I send get immediately rejected. The latest email address I can't send to is [email protected] but it happens to a lot. Also it happens a lot when we try to contact any member of our site who has a German email account.

So I've tried sending an email to [email protected] from our webmaster email address and then also from two personal email accounts that we hardly ever use so they can't have a bad record. One is a hotmail account and the other a Yahoo account. Both emails immediately bounce back saying:

    Rejected by spam filter (66ad6263-7d5f-11ee-89c5-9d1ff45ac106)

Why doesn't this spam filter they use actually deliver my email to their spam folder. If they think it's spam they should still deliver it. They must not get a lot of legitimate emails because of their hypersensitive filters.

OK, I have now used The Best Porn's online contact form:

    https://www.thebestporn.com/contact.html

So hopefully they will receive my email.

But I still find it very annoying that a lot of my emails get totally rejected. Not all sites have an online contact form.

Fix your e-mail settings then ? Also, you probably wont be able to send to zoho mail as well, they have very strict rules too.

I definitely shouldn't have to fix my email settings. I'm sending from a normal Yahoo email account and a normal Hotmail account that I hardly use. They do not have a bad spam record. In fact there isn't much you can do regarding settings for these two email accounts. I know I can set things differently with my webmaster email accounts.

The spam filters they are using are stupid. They should filter spam out but still deliver it to their spam folder. Then they can check the spam folder to make sure there aren't any emails there that aren't spam.

I am quite sure both hotmail and yahoo have bad spam reputation - hotmail from time when it was only free email provider, and yahoo after hacking incident where data of many users were exposed.

Try to use zoho/gmail free SMTP to send mail instead.

Yes, that is probably true. But millions of people must have Hotmail and Yahoo email accounts and they don't send spam. The email I sent from my Hotmail and Yahoo email account was just a normal email and couldn't be interpreted as spam. I've never spammed anyone from those two email addresses. Most of the time I use them the emails get delivered. So it's just those who use hypersensitive spam filters that reject them. But I do maintain that even if they think my email is spam they should still deliver it to the spam folder so it can be checked.

I will try your suggestion later. It won't hurt to have a few more email addresses I can use for spamming!

There is a set of rules which need to be followed in order to end up in inbox instead spam box. Follow them, and problem solved.

Yes that's true in a lot of situations. Especially email marketing.

But surely sending an ordinary email that is in no way spam and is relevant shouldn't cause it to be immediately rejected as spam by some spam filter. If you're sending an email from a Hotmail account for example there isn't much you can really do regarding settings or anything else to stop it being rejected by spam filters. I've had a look and can't find anything. I'm baffled by why my email was instantly rejected. I can't think of any reason why it should have been rejected. There is something clearly wrong with their spam filter settings. I get this a lot also when I'm emailing members of our sites who have German email accounts. What a lot of German email clients demand of you do in order to get your email delivered is really unreasonable and often impossible. Like this one:

Thanks. But the email I sent was rejected as spam so wasn't delivered.

Only joking. Got 8 out of 10 for one email address. 5.9 for another. It offers some suggestions to improve your rating but it seems quite complicated. You get marked down if you have a free account. Will check it out more later. Might find ways to improve things with my emails getting more chance of being delivered.

That's annoying. I guess you will have to check your spam box carefully. I always check my spam/junk folders carefully as every now and then an email that isn't spam gets delivered there. The thing I find really annoying about some spam filters is they don't even deliver your email but instead instantly reject it. If they think my email is spam I'd appreciate it if they delivered it to their client's spam folder!

Yep, that is right tool for testing, you need to get score 10 otherwise problems will occur.

Not really it is quite easy to follow those recommendations.
