    Freak accident in hockey

    Anyone seen that accidental freak accident in hockey in the UK?

    As someone who used to play ice hockey, I watched it and felt horrible. What a tragic accident!

    A player was accidentally going for the puck and accidentally got tripped and his leg accidentally came up and freakly super accidentally caught another player by accident on the neck!

    Damn... I hope people rally around the player who's leg hit the other man in the throat, because he is probably very upset about how much of an accident it was! Good thing all of the media and Reddit are all in agreement that this was an accidentally freak accident by accident!

      Oh, damn. I didn't know about this one, but there is similar accident many years ago, goalkeeper had same situation, but he survived somehow.

                  I am glad that le good Redditors are coming up with text walls that clearly explain that this was an accident, seems like the racists and bigots have been insinuating that this was a purposeful murder. What a disgrace! You'd have to be 12 years old to think that someone in hockey would do this, it isn't like they had a reputation for being a goon or anything. Sheesh.

                                          It would seem that the accidental-kick player collided with the person in front of him, and you can see that it knocked his body weight onto his back foot, causing the front foot to come up and accidentally hit Johnson on his neck. Clearly you don't understand physics and a game that happens at such fast speeds. There is this thing called "momentum" for the uneducated science-deniers. I spoke with my local University and their professor of experimental particle physics in the laboratory, and xir came to the same conclusion as I did using science and mathematics to calculate the effects of time, space and gravity to go frame-by-frame and calculate that this was a huge accident and that the accident player had absolutely zero fault here, that this was unavoidable and just a freak accident as proven by science. While he had his eyes on Johnson for a couple of seconds before the collision, the actual physics and kinetics behind the accident was just a freak of mathematical coincidence that the player's skate caught Johnson on the neck.

                                          Please, let's show our support to Petgrave. Imagine waking up as him, distraught and upset about the freak accident, just to have people sending him nasty messages with more than a hint of racism. Personally, I'm going to petition for Petgrave to be allowed in the NHL where he can truly shine and move beyond this absolutely freak accident to have the best career possible and be a role model to others, to show that we can move beyond accidents and that we honour people that rise above false malignment. Hope Petgrave can find the strength to overcome the haters and get back on the ice where he belongs.

                                                              MY opinion is based on what I see on the video. I don't believe it was intentional killing, but investigation should be done anyways, hopefully to learn how exactly it happened and somehow prevent in future.

Really none quite like this very hard hit that accidentally happened with the skate-to-face happening with such force.
