they are shutting down accounts left and right........Now people have to pay for hosting like everyone else

I use both, paid and terra. As long as my account works I'm gonna exploit it for my larger gifs and galleries.

The main site stays on the fast dedicated !

I see only 3 of you??.......I really don't think that there are that many dishonest webmasters here that use a host that they know does not allow porn. Ony cheaters use them, or will admit to using them...

This may be a big surprise to you, or even a totally new concept, But most of the webmasters here are Honest, and hard working, and run their internet businesses the Honest way.

My 2 cents because if I really get started on another terra.es thread it will be more like my 5 bucks worth..

You don't have to speak Spanish to understand this from terra.es personal pages new TOS:
3.3. Limitaciones

a) No se podrán incluir en las Páginas Personales ficheros de tamaño superior a 500 KB.

b) No se podrán incluir en las Páginas Personales ficheros del tipo avi, mp3, mpg,mpeg

c) No se podrán utilizar las Páginas Personales como disco duro virtual, en base a la definición de Página Personal que aparece en la condición 1.

d) No se podrá generar desde las Páginas Personales un tráfico diario superior a 100 MB.


Which in shortage means:
No files >500 kB, no videos, and NO DAILY TRAFFIC OVER 100 MB.

That explains why are some accounts deleted and some not. In other words terra is unusable for high traffic gallery posting, on the other side for small trafic you can buy quality hosting very cheap. Forget Terra.es

I will tell you something, For a week, I am fighting an uphill battle right now against Japanese warez motherfuckers who upload files as gif or jpg, thousands of files, all under my 60k limit. These files have the extention gif or jpg, but are 200MB appz, Gamez, Mp3Z, DiVx, whatever.


The more accounts I shut down, the more they create. Now the funny shit about this is all the time I am wasting policing this, that I cannot apply elsewhere on a more productive things.


You see, if I dont do it, then it's my hability to make money that is at stake. But for them, I am a free host, so who cares, they dont see me, they dont know me, so no problem, it's without consequences.


Lets not fool ourselves here. The admins at Terra.es are fighting an uphill batttle too againt the cheating adult webmsters. Each account need to be veryfied by some admins before it is shut down, a lenghty process that cost money. See the service is for spanish people only. Not americans commiting identity thef. So they take the long aproach, and are even willing to incur losses as to not do unjustices to the very people they are trying to give services to. Kudos to them!


I sympatise allot with these admins, who have to wasted countless hours fighting you guys. It's easy to make up any arguments for them that will fit your agenda. This is only hypocrysie. And one side of it only. Because everyone know they are cheating, everyone is also looking the other way. Sponsors are as guilty as the webmasters.


You know, for me the people using terra are not better then the ones putting ilayers to hide headers and footers. Or distancing them. They are the same people who will bend the rules so it fist their agenda too. They are the same who will tell their friends to signup under themselves to get a better ratio/payout. It gets down t this, Honesty and integrity.


You people are giving up your reputation and credibility for what? Oh yeah, for the 5$ more you are gonna make.

And THAT, good people, is the single best argument disputing the use of terra.es that I've ever seen.

I blacklisted terra.es well over a month ago on BGN, I've not had one complaint either. Maybe my submitters are afraid of me (hee hee), or maybe they just submit their terra galleries to some other sucker. The buck stops here at MY site though, I not only agree with Wizdom but I'll also add that terra-hosted galleries tend to be shit-slow at various times each day, pics don't load at all or take forever to load, then you look at a full-sized pic and hit your back button, and you must wait AGAIN for everything to reload! Well, many times but not always.

TGP'ers, save yourselves the headaches, blacklist them now.

Wiz, good luck with your fight against cheaters, and thanks for the little bit of extra insite into the daily workings of a freehost from you and Lightning. People tend to start taking your valuable service for granted over time unless you remind them occasionally of what they are getting for free.
