    Google Thin Content Penalty

    Hey,

In may, one of my sites got manual action for thin content and Since then I have changed many part of the site.. Added to robots.txt to no index search, photo, tags
Added to search meta no index.
Removed 13k dublicated videos, 23k tags.
Removed my multi language section ( was google translated) and I redirect the subdomains to main.
And still getting rejected... How to find the real issue? Any help/idea please?

    Thanks

not sure, my own experience tells me : in manual action case, better clone the content on a new domain and try again with a bit of remixing , however it depends how much of your content is unique or just copy and paste or cloned (like video embeds), i wouldnt bother to lick googles arse and not waste much time, if you had truly unique content ignore my answer. in this case it only helped me, to wait it out, sometimes even totally spammy sites came back after a few month. trying to optimize never got me anywhere but wasting lots of time and sweat, after all we are considered spammers anway by google and once caught...well...rinse and repeat, my own paranoia goes so far that i even wouldnt bother to use the same google analytics account and just put all my efforts on new site building

Wait it out... it'll take 12+ months to get that thin content label removed if you've fixed the issue, so bet you can do is just wait it out...

You know.. If it's an aggregated site or site full of affiliate promo content and nothing additional added to add value, no unique text, everything copied or spun, videos or galleries that 1000s of other sites use too, then that's the issue.

It doesn't really matter if it's aggregated or not, my point is still the same.

When you add in sponsor videos, do you add in any extra text or content at all? Banners/tags/etc don't count as adding anything of value, same with presentation.

Also, why are there so many duplicate videos?

You've been removing things to try to fix this, now try adding things

Perhaps just turn the site into a basic blog and start fresh with a new site/domain name.

Use the first site as a learning tool.

You can do a test with 301 or double 301 to a new domain to pass backlinks juice.
It is hard to say penalty will pass or not.

Thin content means you contribute nothing original, nothing new to what is already out there.

You say it's a softcore tube site but are your video titles and descriptions unique and longer than 60 characters?

What Google is trying to tell you is that it wants something different. They don't want 370 copies of the exact same thing.

Google is trying to tell you that your site is unoriginal and lacks any value. So give it value. Make something unique about it.

Add features that are unique to just your site.

This is interesting, as a "manual action" is a human reviewed and flagged event. So Google workers are actually cruising porn as part of their job?

BTW, the "thin content" issue speaks for itself.

For example, if you have just video with description and nothing else, so it is recommend to add either long description or "similar videos" section.

The truth is i just checked and from total 40871 videos ,

                                      37093 less than 60
                                      29151 less than 50
                                      15386 less than 40
                                      3446 less than 30
                                      495 less than 20

but all sites that well ranked have around 40 to 50 char .
i already start editing titles anyway. i just trying to understand.

so far i have remove many part and content of my site
all rejections come from 2-5 days
most of the time 2 days , so maybe is just algorythm check "wrong" on site and if is fixed going to manual?

The truth is i just checked and from total 40871 videos , but all sites that well ranked have around 40 to 50 char . i already start editing titles anyway. i just trying to understand.

                                        >> Well you kind of just answered your own question there didn't you? You have a video and a title with 40 to 50 characters? Is that really it?

I would suggest treating each video as a blog post. Can you get 300 to 500 words describing each video? If not go feed your movie titles to Caption Queen scene description AI and let it help you.

That alone will make a massive difference for you.

Added to search meta no index.
Removed 13k dublicated videos, 23k tags.
Removed my multi language section ( was google translated) and I redirect the subdomains to main.
And still getting rejected... How to find the real issue? Any help/idea please?

                                          Thanks
Make the thin content no longer thin. Google misleads in a number of ways. But, one thing that they do sort of get right is penalizing (or just not ranking) thin content. They get that wrong too sometimes. But, a manual action saying it's thin...add to it.

the info in this thread is 15 years out of date

you don't need unique titles, long descriptions, unique content

you need a site where your SE traffic has extremely low bounce rate and extremely high time on site. (unfortunately that's very fucking hard to do...don't get your hopes up.)

it's not any different from the TGP traffic-trading days. the only thing that matters is clicks.

Well...all that, plus an insane link budget.

a few of you know which sites I run so...believe me or don't, its up to you.
