    Newbie here (& to the industry)

    Hey yall, just wanted to introduce myself instead of just leeching off the site.

    I'm a software engineer by education but since quitting Big Tech I've been slowly descending (ascending?) into more and more taboo ventures, beginning with a sugar dating site a few years ago.

    Currently I'm hacking on some AI stuff for my friends that have and/or manage OF accounts (think chatbots, AI voice generation, etc).

    I also have managed to build a database of ~100k onlyfans profiles with some qualitative data attached. Still figuring out what to do with that, maybe some sort of search tool?

          Quit or laid off? I cannot imagine most folks would quit. If you are based in the US, especially West Coast, the pay with benefits and stock options was exceptional. Only the cost of living was insane.

          In an attempt to not burn too many brain cells, my first thoughts are ... take a snap shot of the data collected, and either approach Only Fans or their competitors. Make arrangements to be a well paid long term consultant, and also sell them the initial information.

                                          very few big tech "engineers" are truly full stack. i'm talking a vanilla stack from kernel to response. not plugging in containers and using drag and drop coding. AI coding is just APIs. who can't work with an API?

                                          there's probably more true full stack devs here on gfy than there are in SF.

                                                  And with all scaled agile frameworks like SAFe and Less, things don't get any worse. Real features are ripped into infinitesimal chunks, so hard to see what you're actually working for. But great reporting for management... The main thing is that the feature completion rate is good.

                                                              I understand you, as its same path I have chosen for myself 30 years plus now.
                                                              Tech work in the Bay Area paid exceptionally well. Enough, that the stable income earned would allow you to invest in other up and coming startups, funds, real estate, etc.
