Nothing about Oppenheimer makes me want to see it in theaters.

I believed the hype. It was shot in Imax THIS, it used a new film format created by Kodak THAT, it was shot on analog film WHATEVER.... give me a fucking break.

I like most of Nolan's films but the guy has a screw loose somewhere. It is way too long (3 hours), It takes zero advantage of the Imax format (no sweeping vistas or other beautiful scenes), and the guy has a serious problem with sound mixing. Here's what I noticed:

- The movie is way too fucking loud. I'm not talking about the A-bomb explosion. I'm talking about everything, even voices.

- There is once scene where a couple are talking. They are outside, and you hear some wind blowing, some leaves on trees swishing around, and music. Every single one of these audio tracks were turned up to 10. It as if he didn't know that wind and leaves should be a subtle background sound, and music should be used to convey an emotion. It was all just BLLLLAARRRGGGHHHH...

- There is another scene where people are stomping their feet in a small room. This sound is repeated several times during the movie. This was SO LOUD and SO BOOMY that it was louded than the Atomic Bomb explosion. Like, what the fuck?

I knew it was going to be a bio-pic movie and alot of it is good, but the sound design was completely distracting and just plain bad. If you saw his last movie Tenent, you may know what I mean.

Apperently Nolan does this on purpose as an artistic choice. Balls to that.

What is there to see? A generational slave owner posing as self made slave. Bullshit as usual.

Wish I saw it in IMAX instead, otherwise I did enjoy it

Hate when movies do this with sound...so I better wait for it to be watched at home, I suppose.

Well, 8.8 on IMDB with 146k ratings, can't be that bad

I'll see it in 2 weeks, we have a small "art" cinema here which will show it in 35mm - fuck IMAX ;)

Yea, I wanted to see it real bad. I found it boring. Too melo dramatic.

Florence Pugh was hot.

Nolan has many, many fan boys who will praise his work no matter how bad they suck.

Can't stand his movies, personally.

I'll wait till it's streaming somewhere and promptly fall asleep after 15 minutes as usual.

I love great sound. Explosions, club-scene music, crashing trains, should be loud, and loud enough to maybe drown out voices. I watched Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning in the exact same theatre, in almost the same seats, as Oppenheimer and it sounded great. Things went POWN, Music boomed, and voices were appropirately clear. Oppenheimer to me was a sonic mess.

Yeah, I saw that. I think I am the only person who hated the sound.


Then again maybe I am just being picky. I will probably watch it again. If I can see it in 70mm film that would be interesting I guess but there are no cinemas near me in that format anymore. I am sure that 35mm will do the movie justice anyway. Enjoy!!

I like Florence Pugh but didn't find her hot in this movie. I think she looked sexy in Black Widow though.

I mostly liked Interstellar as it is almost exactly my kind of movie (Sci-fi, Time Travel, Black Holes, Time Travel, 4D Tesseract, lots of science, etc), but the robots were so stupid they kept taking me out of the movie. I should have loved Tenet, but hated it. I love Inception though. Super well done. The Dark Knight is really good and one of my favourite movies of all time, The Prestige, is a Nolan flick.

Absolutely HATED Interstellar.
