Have you ever worked really, really hard on something, and it all went to shit?

You know, you put your all into it, work day & night to get it just right. You can't sleep, because anytime it'ss quiet, you begin to think about all the little things you can add or take away. You don't move from it, you love it, you get a rise of excitement everytime you think about it.

And then it's done, and it just fails. Just falls right down before it even got anywhere. Sure, there was a little surge of hope, but now it's dead. And all you can do is stand there, look at the sky, or the mirror, and ask "why the fuck did I even try"?

I probably should have included in that post:

And then, when it comes to trying harder, you just get this ball of contempt and anger and fear and dissapointment that hardens inside of you, that becomes this mud of trepidation you have to drudge through to "try" the next time.

Some of my free sites that were put together in 30 seconds get hundreds of Google hits daily. Some other projects that took months to build went nowhere and were scrapped. This business is often like flipping a coin.

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about; then that's not what I'm talking about. I have'nt even had a chance to push what you're talkin about. Just got done building the damn thing, and taking a break before I get down to it. Know what I'm talkin about?

But thank you.

Failures and flops are a part of life's menu.

Don't fear failure so much that you refuse to try new things. The saddest summary of a life contains three descriptions: could have, might have, and should have.

Life's real failure is when you do not realize how close you were to success when you gave up.

If the truth be known, most successes are built on a multitude of failures.

Would you like me to give you a formula for success? It's quite simple, really. Double your rate of failure. You are thinking of failure as the enemy of success. But it isn't as all. You can be discouraged by failure - or you can learn from it. So go ahead and make mistakes. Make all you can. Because, remember that's where you will find success.

It is a mistake to suppose that men succeed through success; they much oftener succeed through failures. Precept, study, advice, and example could never have taught them so well as failure has done.

While I was working in the military I already was a computer programmer. I was only programming for myself and the only one knowing that I was good at it was my superior officer and a couple of other commerades. My superior always wanted a program that made a huge admin task easier for him but the military division that would do all the programming did not come up with a good solution. So he basically made me program that little tool during my duty and I finsished a really great admin tool. It was so good that many officers wanted the prog and I charged 20 bucks for it. After selling a dozen the programming division were getting pissed and soon a order was issued that disallowed the use of all programs but the ones approved or programmed by them and my little enterprise was crushed ;)

Well I had a great year while others were robbing thru mud and I was sitting in front of a comp. I got great experience and finally I got a job working in the US that my superior was able to push into my direction. That finally led to making good money in the adult industry.

This shows even if you think you have wasted your time something good might come from it in the end.

hell yeah - doing it all the time...only 1 out of 10 things I do is worth while...financially anyway

Funny thing is that its when i really start focusing on making money things go worst

When I just do things for the kicks of it, money generally is better...So - if you think its fun, hell - just keep it up, eventually someone will pay you for it

Realize that experience is a priceless asset. Try to re-examine what caused your setback and try to correct, improve and move on knowing that you learned something new.

Absolutely.

Many of my dealings with the IRS go that way. Great plan, loads of effort, poop sandwich over and over again.

Stop. Regroup. Tweak plan. Go again.... ..and again until an acceptable outcome appears.
