Canadians get very angry when you think they are American

I needed a few things from a computer ship in the UK.

behind the counter was a very attractive lady (she looked to have (Indian heritage).

When she spoke I thought she was American, so to charm her I said, your American.

She was fuming and told me she was Canadian.

I thought it best not to ask her out.

Before or after you asked if she was American? :D

Regardless, on behalf of all of Canada, I sincerely apologize for her extreme behavior. Please have a bottle of Maple Syrup on me.

Well can you blame her? Canada along with a great deal of the world thinks American's are arrogant - obnoxious and rude. There's a reason why travel agents and some American's travel with a Canadian pin because they'll be treated better. So by implying she was American you insulted her because to her - you implied she was arrogant - obnoxious and rude.

            After.

She was tall too, so I could not even look down her top.

No wonder, Canada turned full commie lately. They don't want to be associated with democracy anymore.

LOL. Yeah we're an insecure bunch here in Canada. We need to hate Americans to feel better about ourselves even though we spend all of our vacation time there and eat up your culture.

I am curious on how you think Canada is communist? Since living here that statement is the furthest from the truth.

I think he's trolling to a degree to make a point, which I imagine you see as well.

Canada (and much of the western world), has shifted quite dramatically to the left in an unhealthy way over the last 10 years or so. So we're not even close to full commie as the comment implies, but we are trending 'in that direction.' Still far from it but the last few years have been of concern.

We've shifted so far left, that center is now 'Right'. And I've voted Liberal, NDP and Green my whole life. We need a pullback to the center to restore some balance which some people now would say is a move to the Right or even Far Right because of their new perspective.

Thanks for the clarification and yes I do agree. Like most Canadians when voting we ask ourselves the question, "who's going to do the least damage" LOL

My wife and I vote based on what party is going to best help our kids - that's pretty much it. We've also noted in schools that programs are getting a bit to much and we've lost some great teachers all for the sake of inclusivity. It's at the point now that my wife is going to home school them - that - and the education system for younger ones simply push them onto the next grade no matter where they are at in learning... so a more hands on approach is better for us along with kids with special needs aren't fully cared for as well.

                              All the best to you.

I hate that. The 'everyone gets a ribbon' mentality. I agree and wish we could at least let kids fail and lose (in many ways), and feel badly about it so that they learn to overcome the setback and get stronger because of it.

Good luck with your home schooling.
