I've built a website with self-crafted CMS (no wordpress)

Greetings, comrades! One day, I had an idea to create a porn website. So, I started exploring the internet to see how it's currently done, and after some research, I came to the following conclusions about the state of the industry:

    1. Most of the solutions are based on WordPress.
    2. They can be quite pricey, especially for someone just starting out.
    3. The themes provided with these solutions often look outdated.
    4. They may not be easily scalable.
    5. They can include a lot of unnecessary features.

But then I had a thought, why not create my own minimal solution from scratch that I can customize as I want? So, I did it! Here's an example of the website I built using my own CMS solution: vimsy-example.vercel.app

Currently, it's quite basic, but it already has some powerful features, and it only took me about 10 minutes to build and deploy. Some noteworthy aspects are:

    1. The website is fully static, which means there's no need for dedicated servers, except for a rust-based full-text search server deployable on Railway with just one click, costing me only $0.1 per month and supporting up to 1000 requests per second. You can simply drop it on a CDN and it will scale infinitely.
    2. It's extremely fast, which is great for SEO.

What do you think, comrades? Would you like to create websites like this too?

It seems a good website for a starter but it still need some customization and features like comments section & categories. Did you embed Pornhub videos manually or you used an automated method to embed them automaticly ?

I have collected around 40,000 videos from Pornhub and stored them in a full-text search database. This allows me to easily search and filter the videos within my CMS. I'm currently working on adding additional features, some of which will be relatively simple to implement. For example, I have all the necessary data to create a categories menu and implement advanced filters based on duration range.

Additionally, my website template offers various configuration options for styling, and I plan to continue adding features and configuration options as needed to avoid making the setup too complex.

pretty generous use of the term CMS

there's lots of programmers here who write their own scripts to manage their sites and projects.

either make it a sellable product or stop bragging that you did a few hours of work.

            i code every fuckin day

Yes i noticed that funny trend how people brag how they code. It means nothing since there is millions and millions of coders on world. Now with OpenAI, there will be even more. In the end, it's all about marketing.

i still code everything vanilla but all the drag and drop packages make everything easier too. can the script make you money or make your life easier is the question.

Hey there, my apologies for not providing enough detail earlier. I wanted to share that I've been working on a CMS that I'm considering releasing, but I'm not sure if others have faced similar challenges with traditional approaches. I was hoping to get your thoughts on whether it would be useful. Also, just to let you know, I don't plan on charging for it because the costs to maintain it would only be around $5 per month for up to 500 active users (not including my own time and effort). Thanks for listening!

I'd like to let you know that I'll be releasing a basic version of the CMS along with documentation and an open-source template for static websites. If you're interested in trying it out, please let me know.

your "cms" rips videos from tubes and dumps them into your database. did i get that right? this is not a cms, its a video manager, and you are peddling in stolen content.

Looks great! A quick and SEO friendly wordpress site for tube developers! It's like what the sheep herder did in 2005 but without having to physically steal videos from members areas. Simply embed them, which all tubes allow now. Good job

Most webmasters who would be interested in something this basic already have an unlimited WP-Script license or similar, to be honest.

The best use case for something like this, in my opinion, is to quickly deploy a "PBN" of sorts for yourself.

I am interested in trying to see if it is indexed.

But it seems that it will be difficult to get organic traffic.
