Business Tips and tricks to get started producing porn in 2023?

I have a very clear picture in my mind of what I'd like to do. I have scripts written down for the scenes and roughly how much time every shot should take. I have an art school background, I know a thing or two about film. I'd be doing stuff that pretty much nobody else does in western porn although some of the stuff is relatively common in japanese porn. Nothing too weird, I'm mostly referring to poses, camera angles, scenarios and the length of shots. I have the skills to do all the editing myself. I have a 4k camera with decent enough quality. I'd be starring myself. I know several girls that might be interested in starring and know where/how to find more. I've already shot some practice videos with friends of mine and I'd consider them high enough quality to stand out even around professional porn. I'm based in a country where porn and prostitution are legal and don't really expect any trouble that way, I'm familiar with all the relevant laws. I know how shit works in the streets.

Here's what I don't know: Where to sell it? I'm considering Onlyfans, Manyvids and Pornhub simultaneously. Do I need to take pictures of every girl's IDs and have them sign a contract for every shoot? I'd be posting free 30 sec long trailers wherever I can and a 10 min long free video in pornhub to get exposure. My full content would be around 90 mins or so and I'd be selling each video. Maybe also a BTS video. The bad part is I think I'd only be able to shoot once every two weeks moving up to once every week when it starts generating profit. Onlyfans would be free sub with ppv for full videos. Is that a good enough plan? A bad plan? Would I be better off with a paid subs based model? Would I be better off trying to become some kind of associated content provider for an established porn site? Create my own site with decentralized file storage and charge with crypto?

On the business $$$ side of things... I want to make as much as possible but I don't need to sell more than about $500 per video to break even. At $5 per video I'd need a 100 sales... how realistic is that? Easy? Hard? How many videos should I have in a backlog before I start publishing? Anthing else I'm missing?

One option is to use modelcentro as you can have your own site they deal with hosting and billing and everything. They also have a good version of onlyfans.

For each model you need ID and a model release.

This is not 2005 when you could make a film and it would sell, it is not that easy.

$500 is not much unless your going to do a solo model shoot.

If I was going to give anyone a tip for starting out from brand new in 2023 it would be do something amazing.

Pornhub is a site that will get you lots of views as people are after free content. How many will result in sales from a single film, may be low.

I advice you to create your own website in which you sell your videos (videos should be long at least 10 minutes) and post trailers that are between 40 seconds & 60 seconds in giant porn websites like pornhub, xhamster & xvideos to get exposure. at the end of the trailer always put a banner that invite people to watch the full video on yourwebsite.com .

In the long term I'm very willing to pay more and get a reputation as someone that pays very well... maybe even comparable with american rates. But starting out... I mean there are hot $100 escorts here that are willing to get recorded for $20 extra bucks, I think the hard part would be convincing them to sign the release and show their ID.

I know I'll start with very low sales as I'm starting from nothing but how many is low? Are the 100 I need still considered low? How many is high? 1000?

I would be carful of using escorts.

Many will not wished to be filmed.

And some may have pimps who may think your taking the pee, and who may drive past and put a bullet in your head or a family member.

If your plan is to put a camera on a stand and and have sex with women hoping people will pay and it will fund your sex life, then chances are you will not sell much as the footage will probably suck.

And it is unlikely that they will carry ID or legit ID with them, or hand it over to you if they are escorts.

Now remember you are posting this in this forum. I say that as in a few months if you set up a website and want affiliates, I wonder how many people will want to promote a site where you have got escorts who may not be legal age. One simple option is set up a solo model site on modelcentro and stick to a single model for it.

It will give you experience and you will probably find you teach yourself a LOT from doing so.

It does not need to be full sex, full nude would be fine. Even topless if she was very sexy.

Once you find you get sales and make an income you could then set up another site with a single model or several models.

The advantage of modelcentro is that they have an affiliate bit too, so once you have uploaded a few vids and sets of pics, you can put your site free on the affiliate side,l and have affiliates promote your site(s).

Yes I want to start with gonzo and stands. But my footage doesn't sucks. Its better than most other things from Backroomcastingcouch to Asiansexdiary. In fact the main reason I want to to this is because of the constant disappointment and feelings of "I could do it much better" when watching porn from anything but the biggest companies. And it's no longer just my imagination, I can now compare things I've shot with the content of many porn sites and very popular amateurs and my stuff is similar or better quality and hotter. The only sites I recognize as being extremely good and above my ability to match (until I have enough money for much better equipment) are Nympho/TrueAnal/Swallowed and Hookuphotshot. Stuff like Netvideogirl has very high quality equipment and a very nice location (I mean in the last few years...) but I think most of the footage is boring as fuck.

It is, only revenge porn is illegal. A proper model release in the local language specifying that consent is given without duress, that the person is sober, etc. should be fine legally.

I'd echo that it is a plus to have your own site.

For OnlyFans, if you have ongoing relationships with some of the talent or can shoot OF style content, along with your videos, you might make more running even just 2 or 3 OF, each about just one performer, than doing one OF with a ton of content of lots of different models. Good luck.

You can never have too much paperwork, always keep an assistant in the room, put a camera on the wall. NEVER be alone with a model. be VERY careful about model boyfriends. a model boyfriend left my place and went directly to a motel and killed some random guy. a model boyfriend stole the speaker wires from my stereo... go figure...
