I looked at your stuff and the thing I noticed was you seem to have a nice personality.

You come across as what I imagine (I am from England) the surfer type living in California driving a camper van, with a bikini clad girlfriend.

That's may be the type of vids to make.

Go about having fun, interacting with people.

Go to places, eat local food.

Personally do what makes you feel happy, otherwise you will be fed up after making a few vids and have no interest.

You can link the channels, so that helps get subs from one to another.

At least you are not dealing with a channel with 1 million subs, but 1.05K subscriber.

And nothing is stopping you from downloading those vids, and uploading them to a new channel.

DVTimes 03-05-2023 01:51 AM

A tip to get views folks.

If people comment or like a vid, from my experience views shoot up.

If you can get people to post a comment you should find you end up with a lot of views.

I like the original sounds. Keep on going

I know

I think no one is this dad to view them, then I sit watching.

These may give people some ideas on youtube vids:

He eats food in the UK and USA fast

https://www.youtube.com/@Beardmeatsfood

Some bloke eats fast food

https://www.youtube.com/@RateMyTakeaway

Just talks about tech

https://www.youtube.com/@Techmoan

Talks about his business

https://www.youtube.com/@thisisashville

Another chap who talks about mobile phones (and clearly loves himself)

First of all good for you. That's awesome.

Second, I just don't get it. I see you have about 15 million views with your 5 most popular vids which is awesome. They are good videos too but I don't see what makes them stand out from the other 10 million walking videos. This is not a criticism, again your videos are great but I don't see the Youtube success formula really. Seems like part skill and part chance.

To make $26,000 in one month as a hobby is phenomenal. I'm jealous for sure, but really happy for your success. Thanks for sharing.

Probably the thumbnail helps.

Then if you have the right title and description.

But also my understanding is more people comment and stay watching the vid, the more google pushes it to be seen.

I am considering dedicating myself full time. I find it more fun than the adult market 😅

Congrats. That is Very inspiring! How do you make the captions available in all that languages? Do you translate them yourself, or is it youtube that does it?

Successful YT channels usually have a number of people (a team) getting the content out. Unless, that is, if you have a format that allows for easy editing (guy in front of camera with a microphone, etc). With your format (excellent video btw) it would definitely take more time but you can streamline that with outsourced help. I would do say three more immediately to test if you can recreate the success of the above video. If so then hire a Team and rock it man!!! :pimp

:thumbsup:thumbsup

Yes there are many. But the thing is that this is a hobby and I love to film, edit, create the thumbnail, write the subtitles, translate them in 35 languages, etc. If I make this a business I will get bored. I have SeeMyBucks to make money and YouTube to have fun 😇

Hello. Thank you! Honestly, you never really know why a video become 'viral'. You can 'think' the reasons later but before, nobody knows. It's a mystery. Probably it's a mix of a title that you wanna click: 'The CUBA that THEY don't Want you to See' -- First, who is 'they'? Then, why they don't want you to see that Cuba? It's because it's pro communist or anti communist? etc. That kind of titles attract a big audience. Then the thumbnail, it shows a very old car, a woman in front like saying 'this is sad'. Then a person under the car that you don't know if it was an accident or someone trying to fix the car, etc. About 11% of people clicks that thumbnail (CTR) which it's very high for youtube. But again, nobody knows how YouTube works...

Hello. Thank you! I write them in English and Spanish. From English, I use google translator to convert them to Anglo languages like German, Swedish, etc. From Spanish, I translate it to romance languages like French, Italian, Portuguese. Then from English I also translate it to non proto-european languages like Chinese, etc. It takes a lot of work but the result it's pretty decent.

Depending on security or scene lighting I use: GoPro Black, iPhone 14 Pro, Sony Alpha.

Stabilizer it's a cheap chinese gimbal that I found on Amazon

It's a gopro with a gimbal that I hold in my hand while I walk. Never had a problem filming people except in some arab countries but no big deal. In Cuba I was stopped many times by plainclothes police but they just had questions and were polite.

It would probably make sense to have someone edit and so on, as if you can do a vid a week, or more, you should make a decent income.

Subtitles takes a lot of time but this is what makes the difference with competition. I translate them to 35+ languages so gain a bigger audience. Also, I like to being able to express ideas and comment about a travel destination. Its weird when many millions read what you have to say. Social media it's a very democratic technology, everybody with an idea and cheap camera and reach an audience. My videos were watched by about 25 million people which it's weird. Remember that this is just a hobby, 90% of my time is to take care of SeeMyBucks.

Yes, the same logic applies to everything in life: playing sports, having a partner, running a company, etc. It take s a LOT of time and energy to run a YouTube channel. It's not that easy as it seems but to me, it's a hobby that I would do it for free..

Great tips and advice. Time for me to buy a gopro :)
And i see i can even film underwater. was looking for that.
What software is best/easiest for editing?

For the Walkin tours i see Sao Paulo is not there. I can give you a route there. I walked there in many (dangerous/fun) parts. I made a video in Foz do Iguaçu waterfalls, also great sport for walking.

Pipecrew 03-08-2023 02:28 PM

Yeah but you are filming peoples face without permission and for commerce. It's an easy process for someone to submit a flag against your channel for this, Youtube will give you 24 hours to remove the video or blur the face. Once you get 4-5 of these flags you will see your traffic dry up and your new videos get no traction.

I've seen this countless times.

Your saving grace seems to be sticking to shit countries with bad internet hah, banking on them never seeing it.

Ah lol and what then every traveling documentary should do ? It is a possibility for a flag but doubt anyone would care. So far i seen flag in action only once - when money exchange scammers were exposed, they complained and author of video needed to re-upload with blurred faces.

Might be a silly question but can you put the same video on Utube and Tictok to make money from both?

In most countries, you can shoot videos in public places without asking permission. I would be very surprised to see some video being removed because of some random guy who was filmed on the street. Of course, if a Youtuber is filming someone at work, for example, he should/would ask first, I guess...
