ChatGPT is banned

Posting answers from chatGTP is banned on stackoverflow because the answers are not correct.

"Overall, because the average rate of getting correct answers from ChatGPT is too low, the posting of answers created by ChatGPT is substantially harmful to the site and to users who are asking and looking for correct answers."

Yeah I don't get the buzz over ChatGPT, it mostly just seems to badly spin articles from wikipedia and source code from GitHub and such. The only really innovative thing is that it does seem to do a better job of understanding what you're asking.

Based on the article, they probably know it's ChatGTP because the answer sucks.

Google doesn't care if text is AI generated, as long as it is accurate and helpful.

Automation & AI-Generated Content
Using automation, including AI, to generate content with the primary purpose of manipulating ranking in search results violates Google’s spam policies.

Google’s spam-fighting efforts, including its SpamBrain system, will continue to combat such practices.

However, Google realizes not all use of automation and AI-generated content is spam.

For example, publishers automate helpful content such as sports scores, weather forecasts, and transcripts.

Google says it will continue to take a responsible approach toward AI-generated content while maintaining a high bar for information quality and helpfulness in search results.

Google’s Advice For Publishers
For creators considering AI-generated content, here’s what Google advises.

Google’s concept of E-E-A-T is outlined in the “Creating helpful, reliable, people-first content” help page, which has been updated with additional guidance.

The updated help page asks publishers to think about “Who, How, and Why” concerning how content is produced.

“Who” refers to the person who created the content, and it’s important to make this clear by providing a byline or background information about the author.

“How” relates to the method used to create the content, and it’s helpful to readers to know if automation or AI was involved. If AI was involved in the content production process, Google wants you to be transparent and explain why it was used.

“Why” refers to the purpose of creating content, which should be to help people rather than to manipulate search rankings.

Evaluating your content in this way, regardless of whether AI-generated or not, will help you stay in line with what Google’s systems reward.

Well Google itself, like Bing and all other search engines, is going to be AI generating textual answers to search prompts soon, so odd if it continues to penalize affiliate marketers for doing so.

Does anybody know if ChatGPT actually bans users if you keep typing in 'adult' prompts?
I typed a 'borderline' prompt with produced a 'this may break our user guidelines on acceptable use'. It still produced the answer, but it was in red.

It banned me talking about poo. 'Unacceptable Poop Talk' was the reason it gave. All I wanted was 5 good reasons I could debate as to why it was better to go in your pants, than to go in a toilet...

It really didn't like that at all, and told me off in much the same way as a kindergarten teacher would tell off a 5 year old...

I could give you 5 good reasons straight away, right off the top of my head, & I'm borderline retarded...

I mean, if you can't do it, then just admit that you can't do it. Don't dress it up like its a 'naughty answer'...

I guess chatGPT isn't quite as 'smart' as it likes to think it is...

I don't think Google cares. Mr Pheer has already posted proof above but just looking at Google's results (scrapers, Authority sites copying each other etc...) you can see that the G algo isn't about user experience or the 'best answer'.

It is not perfect yet, but AI is here to stay. It will not become SKYNET though, it will just be a tool that you use to work faster.
