Looks like the USA is going to be a non porn place

    https://www.pcmag.com/news/more-us-s...ew-online-porn

The need to submit a government-issued ID to view online porn could expand to several states outside Louisiana due to copycat legislation.

Lawmakers in seven US states have introduced “virtually identical” bills to require age verification on porn sites, according to the Free Speech Coalition, an adult entertainment trade group.

Vice also spoke to the state lawmaker behind the Arkansas bill. “My hope is that we protect children and their innocence in state of Arkansas and then send a message across the country that we need something similar built into federal law as well,” said Republican State Sen. Tyler Dees. Other states considering the copyright legislation include Florida, Mississippi, and Virginia.

Louisiana's law, which came into effect this year, requires websites containing 33.3% or more pornographic content to verify the user’s age with a government-issued ID.

This is excellent. When you can't give porn away to everyone you'll be able to sell it again.

One wonders how many will copy, it started with one, now others have joined in.

The thing is, left wing places will love it as they are anti porn, and the right wing states may as they are anti porn (on religion grounds).

A few years ago, I am sure if anyone posted this may happen in the USA that whoever suggested it, would be seen as a crank.

We in the UK thought we were going to face this problem, but so far the plans were dropped. Yet France, the USA are doing it.

          Who will be next.

And are websites just ignoring it?

Someone posted they were getting less hits, well this could be one reason.

They copied the UK on this, it was the rule basically for twitter. They may have simply said twitter is not to be included.

                        One word: enforcement

How is Louisiana going to enforce this new law? Block all porn sites in Louisiana? Good luck with that (although maybe people are too dumb down there to use a VPN?). Or will they attempt to block sites that do not have this in place?

BTW: HOW will sites implement this new requirement for a single State? Who stores the IDs? Who verifies them? On and on with the problems and probably why the UK can't get it in place.

It will only kill/hurt the big tubes hosted in USA. They cannot enforce it if your server is in lets say Malta

lol. name a single site that follows Louisiana law except for pornhub. Another failure thing, banning does not work in 2023.
