Defragmenting too much - GoFuckYourself.com

Is it bad to defragment your hard drive(s) too often? I run Norton Speed Disk on my drives daily and run Windows Disk Defragmenter several times a week.

Offspring? Umm, no (unless they 'borrowed' the line)? Think back twenty years ago.

Anyway, do you whether or defragging too much can damage your hard drives?

you only need it once a week... or if you move a few gigs around or install something huge

You don't have to do it often at all, this dos defrag. It might help speed up your system for a few days but the time it takes to defrag isn't worth it. once a year just to keep your drive in low possibility of fault.

defrag can cause bad sectors.

Offspring sampled it from def lepord (Rock of ages I believe). Jeezus...I cant believe you actualy attributed that to an offspring song...
