Classified Ads

Anyone have any experience placing nationwide classifieds or remotely placing them in small publications. I'm not looking to push anything adult but a bunch of small mainstream things (websites and some publications). Any online resources people can recommend from experience?

Yep. Go with USA Today. Results are usually incredibly strong. Reaches a very broad section of the country. Currently the most circulated daily paper at 2.25 Million copies to an estimated viewing audience of 5.5 Million people.

They have an online media kit with rates, demographics, specs, etc.

talk to my man Don. He knows how to hook up tiny little ads in newspapers.. he used to do it from his 1 bedroom apartment back in the day.

i've always wondered about this myself. Are there brokers for small businesses who will place ads in hundreds of newspapers and publications for a fee? Cuz it's a nightmare to do it one by one. I know for bigger businesses there are media buyers but i'm talking about small entrepreneurs.

There are a few national classifed ads brokers online...

I don't have links handy. Try googling classified advertisment broker or something.. I'll try to dig them up.

Yeah, that is exactly what I am talking about. There are zillions of publications throughout the country (and world) and they all seem to have them in the back. I find it hard to belive that all these people call each individual publication everytime. I figure there must be brokers and I just want to test some thngs out.

I did, after I had replied and I bookmarked the page - it looks great. Thank you very much. Has your success been with online ventures or 'real' products?

Wonder if there is something like that for the UK.

Thanks for that link, looks pretty good!

Didn't see anything in their FAQs about adult oriented ads... Do these small publications accept porn related material?

Anyone have any experience going from offline classifieds to online conversions?

Forgot to mention, The National Enquirer, and The Star both have great classified sections that pull if you are selling mass appeal low cost stuff.

We ran stuff for mail order horoscopes and some biz ops in there that did well.

you can call the guy at nationwide and ask. Ive done biz op stuff and it works out very well. Im assuming personal ads or what not would do great as well.

I used a unique url and phone # for tracking.

yup, I used to make a nice chunk of change selling "how-to" books with ads in the National Enquirer, The Star and The Globe.
