Man... Dusty... so sad to see him go. Haven't talked to him in years, but he always treated his affiliates like gold, no matter how small.
he sent me one of my first checks in adult. Back then I wasn't even sure I'll make a sale, so I signed up to ccbill with a fake name, Mike Losine. At my first show in Vegas he brought the check (he ways paying a bonus on top of ccbill) and was laughing about it cause he knew it was a fake name. Of course he re-issued it once I updated the original ccbill info.
And yes, as per Kenny's comment- he had some sick sites in his portfolio, stuff that sold amazing, but that looking back you wonder how on earth did ccbill process those. Crackwhore confessions comes to mind.

man, words can't even express how hard this is. It's a good reminder how quick & unpredictable life can be and how important it is to live life to the fullest, do the things you enjoy and keep in touch with the people you care about.
Every year, i make an annual trek to Tampa/Orlando and visiting with him was one of the annual things I'd do. The last 4 times I was there, his health was declining but I always had hope it would get better & things would improve. I'm glad I made it a point to spend whatever free time I could with him but I always thought "i'll see you next year" without fail; I just never thought this day would happen, I thought he was invincible.
I'm glad we got to enjoy Busch Gardens for haunted houses & roller coasters one last time before it was too late.

Historic Note: Dusty was also one of the only people ever investigated for 2257 compliance. Just to be dramatic, the FBI pulled him off of a jetway on his return flight to Miami from Europe and sweated him for a 8 hours at the FBI district offfice. I was on the phone with people trying to figure out how to bail him out but he was never arrested. Just detained for FBI questioning. They let him go the next morning and did not even look at his 2257 documentation. It was a cute little stunt for press coverage by the Department of Justice it turns out.

You'll be missed man. First met in 2009 down in hollywood internext, showed him some tapes on my old Canon GL1 at the show and we got along since in the urban amateur niche. We lived about 30 minutes away and dealt with many of the same models and cameod in a lot of each others stuff. Aside from that we just kicked it chilled and smoked a lot of grass just passing the time. Closer than most people in my family we used to joke he's the blackest guy I know, like seriously late nite Popeyes and Waffle House runs all the time in a stretched out low key town car that never ever got pulled over, simply amazing fun times. I could write stories for hours on here. Great guy always looking out and always hooking people up he made a lot of people smile and will be missed. Went to Costa Rica for the first time with D too and did the same trip about 5X more times after the intro, he's traveled a lot and seen a lot, and experienced a lot. RIP D
