Business Starting A WebCam Studios Site

I've always wondered how people create cam studio websites such as Chaturbate, Streamate, etc. The majority of women are from foreign countries. Are they costly to launch? What is the typical procedure for acquiring models? Some models look like they're all in the same building, and you can hear other conversations in the background, like a call center for webcam models.

Wow that's such a loaded question and more than can be written here.

The larger cam sites have pretty much secured most studios that have models - the other studios can work on various levels depending on what you need and what you can afford. Foreign models are less expensive than North American women but it really depends on the quality of the model - how they interact with the user. If trained correctly you'll have long term clients (long term generally 4 to 6 months) where they'll always come back to see that model to develop a relationship with them.

The software etc. there are places like 2much.net that have turnkey cam software that's really good and flexible to what you want. Or you can have people try to build one and there are a few around but they are more expansive and can run you up to 15k and above depending on what you want on it.

Then there is SEO and traffic to get users to the site. That can be through purchased traffic along with working on your own. That takes time to build. Smart marketing can shorten that time

If you're creating an affiliate program for webmasters be prepared that white label is a pain in the ass but mostly asked for. There again you'll need good solid networking to get people on board especially if they are making good coin on their current cam companies.

Expect a while before you see ROI but it can be worth it in the end depending on the talent - creativity - models and the depth of your pockets to make it work.

I would first, get a domain and make a white label site with Chaturbate. See how you do getting traffic to your site. You don't want to spend a bunch of time and money on your own studio site if you can't get traffic.

With deepest respect to Chaturbate - trust me I do as I was around when you guys first started. There are many users that would simply click on the site and realize it's Chaturbate then jump off because they've likely see it before and this URL is just another feeder site for the larger cam site. What users want is stuff they haven't seen before - and many of the large cam sites (yours included) offer great packages but they could be used as filler rather than the main attraction. Same is true why people spend so long on some tube sites - they've basically seen it all before and they want something new... and jump from tube to tube because everyone scraps off of the main ones anyways so you're getting nothing new.

So creating your own site can happen with your own content - just depends on how much you're prepared to go for it. Traffic as anyone knows can be bought or with hard work - grown.

Now if you want to sell a certain niche then there are many large cam sites that offer that - but you're not going to make much % at the end of the day... whether it's busty - teen - asian or fetish - voyeur etc. it's all out there. So take your time and not just throw up anything.

Im can say from Ukraine, Im many friends want do webcam, when Im show them Chaturbate, all say no because was too many people on and many had tried your site before and didnt make money because too many people so they say no.

There is alot to consider when opening a webcam site or webcam studio.

Obviously the more that you can do yourself will be the hardest, but it would also be the most profitable and the most rewarding since you would be relying less and paying more to 3rd party companies to help you to achive your goals.

For example, becoming an affiliate of an existing webcam company can be the easiest, but of course this is actually the most expensive. As an affiliate, you have to spend your time and money promoting "your" site by sending all of "your" customers to "their" website, payment processing, and models, all in exchange for a commission. The commission you are usually paid is often very low, but more importantly, all of the time and money you have spent gathering customers is completely lost because all of those customers, their data and repeat sales, belong to the company you are promoting, and not you.

If you want to keep the rewards from all of your hard work, you are always much better off to doing as much as possible, yourself.

Here are some basic tips, in no particular order.

1. Buy a good domain name plus a couple of variants of the name. Do not buy a name that sounds like, or is similar to, any other domain or company. This will only server to remind your customers and models of your competitor and create potential lawsuits.

2. Look around for some good videochat or all-in-one software to power your website. Buy, rent or lease a software license that gives you full ownership of the data with flexible terms.

3. Find a hosting company to host it for you, or host it yourself on AWS or Linode if you know how. Like software, find a hosting provider that is flexible, and that can provide good support for you. Don't overprovision, meaning, don't go crazy renting dedicated servers at first as they are almost always unnecessary. Instead, go for small Virtual Machines - they are cheap, fast and easy to manage, and can grow quickly as your requirements grow. https://tmdhosting.com is my favourite.

4. Go with a payment processor like CCBill to start. Yes they are expensive at 14.5%, but they offer fantastic support and wide variety of tools including an easy to use and trusted affiliate program. They are flexible, and offer support far beyond technical. https://segpay.com and https://epoch.com are also very good. If you have a merchant account, you can use a gateway provider instead such as https://netbilling.com (my favourite).

5. When it comes to models and broadcasting, you can hire models to work from home of course but, if you have the means to do so, you may want to consider renting a location and hiring models to broadcast from there instead. A Studio location provides all kinds of benefits to both you and the models. For example, you may want to build themed rooms with high-end lighting, cameras and computers to deliver a really polished video stream. Models may not be able to broadcast from their homes, making your studio an attractive solution. Locate the studio near a college if you can, and models will be lined-up around the block to work for you.

6. Buy small amounts of advertising from several different traffic providers, to test each one out. Make sure you hae a dedicated agent that cares about what you want to do and will work with you to fine-tune the performance of those ads.

7. Don't underestimate the value of SEO. Make sure your site is setup to allow public comments and communication between users and models that search engines like Google can crawl. Add a blog and take full advantage of social media too. The more organic traffic you have, the better.

8. Train your models to treat your customers the way you expect to be treated, with attention, courtesy, and respect. Most of your customers (50% at least) will be shy, introverted, without a spouse, disabled, or worse. The more respect that your models can treat your customers with, the more likely they will return and spend money. Since there are many videochat sites online today, a little TLC will make your website stand-out from the rest.

9. Don't hire just "any" models. Be very choosey. Bring on only models who have the look that you personally like. If you like redheaded girls with freckles, hire them and feature them on your site. Whatever it is that you personally like, 100k+ others like exactly the same thing. Take advantage of that niche.

All of the above can take a considerable amount of time, but the demand for attention from pretty models is HUGE, and the money to be made in this arena is limitless. If this is the area you want to get into, go for it, and don't let anyone get in your way. The rewards are exceptional: Very, very good money, Very low cost after startup, and even alot of fun.

we run a live cam high street studio in the UK, models could walk in to start work with us, the set up of this studio was well over 10grand and then the costs of running was over 2 grand a month...



Marks system allows you not to need a static studio, a virtual studio with models working from their homes and linking through your own platform run by Mark. You also can have other studios linking to your site, so Mark is the guy to speak to if you´re looking to run a cam studio website of your own and not a white label or with other saturated live cam sites

What you need to do is to first be true to your budget. Our solution is pricey and is definately not for everybody, but it includes hosting of your website, bandwidth, payment processing, and 24/7 technical support. In January 2023 through, we will be rolling out 2 new products which are wildly different business models and based on new technology too. We will even be offering a free version.

Regardless, Agent.io's XCams products are excellent and a very good choice for anyone looking to get into webcams. I am happy to praise them even though they are a competitor. I don't think you can go wrong choosing them.

Thank you for responding. Your software appears to be very professional, and I like what I've read thus far. But I'm the type of guy who enjoys creating his own network. I dislike using the cloud because it is still in its early stages and is very expensive. I have a strong background in developing and expanding my own server networking, as well as experience with colocation. But I don't see any statistics or requirements for Full Ownership options on your website. It gives me the impression that you also run a hosting company and would host the software while charging for it? If I were to purchase the full ownership option, what type of setup would I require? I also don't see any clear explanation of what full ownership entails. Will I have access to the source code and be able to add and change things, and will I be able to use multiple domains? It's also a question I'd like to have answered before making such a large investment because I dislike paying monthly fees, especially for software.

Hi awwhoez, Thanks for your questions.

First, what I suggest is that you wait - we have new products coming up in January which I think you will like better than our current offering, which offers a much clearer data ownership policy. In the meantime though, here are the basics:

- With each license that you purchase, you have the option to host it on our servers (at tmdhosting.com), or on your own servers. You can use your own bare metal servers, Virtual Machines, or anything in between. The operating system has to be Linux and personally I prefer Ubuntu. We provide full support regardless of your choice of hosting providers.

You do get the source code, and you are free to customize it as you want to, but since we provide free customization, it is better and faster if we do it for you. The license would not give you the permission to resell or distribute it in any way, but you could transfer it of course.

If you prefer to save money and not purchase a license, then SaaS (Cloud) versions will also be available, on VM's that we maintain and service for you, but you would not be able to access or edit the source code.

- We make no claim to any of your data, whether you are hosting with us or not. Your customers, models, data are completely yours.

- For hosting, we currently host all of our servers at TMDHosting.com. We considered getting into hosting ourselves but it is hard to make a business case when places like TMD, Linode and AWS, Mojo etc already offer hosting services at very competitve rates. So what we have decided to do is simply offer technical support services for our product on your hosting provider of choice instead.
