A follow up on the article I posted a couple days ago about the student who was going to auction off her virginity.

Student backtracks on virginity auction

A student who said she would auction off her virginity to raise the money to finish her studies in Chile has changed her mind.

The 21-year-old woman, who called herself Sandy, did not show up at Santiago radio station W Radio CRC to pick the winner of the auction.

Sandy, who is originally from Peru, later rang presenter El Rumpy and said: "I received good advice about this. Im going to stop it.

Almost crying, she added: "I want to apologise to the Peruvian people for having done this. Especially the young ones."

She first rang El Rumpy's show last week and said she wanted to auction off her virginity so she could afford to complete her philosophy studies.

Sandy said she would provide a doctor's certificate to prove she was a virgin. The opening bid was £350 and radio show said it received thousands of email bids.
