We're up to 1200 over coax here. They offer a 2 gigabit fiber connection but it costs so much more it's not worth it.

That's astonishingly accurate actually. Since having it installed, all my hosted tubes (on non pornographic domain names) have actually multiplied their income by 5!

Not really. I am basically retired since 2013, and the only uploading I do, are my personal YouTube videos...

All my TVs can stream Netflix or whatever, at 4K without breaking a sweat, and my security system only needs a 2.4ghz connection with a minimal upload speed.

I fail to see ANY benefit (To Me) to make me pay double what I'm paying now, just so as I see a bigger number on a speedtest? What can I possibly do at a gigabit, that I cant do at 150Mbps?

I could always upgrade to 500Mbps if I chose too, with just the click of a mouse, but again, I cant find any reason to justify it.

Am I missing something? Serious question, cause if I am, I'll upgrade

A family can drag 150 down a bit, 500 no. Going to a gigabit is useless unless doing intensive work.

Yeah, that's how I'm thinking. My Family (Kids) are grown, married and live elsewhere. I think 150 is plenty for me atm

is that speed normal for your area ?

95% + of home connections are fibre to the home

the min speed for fibre down here is 300 mbps are 100 mbps up

and max speed plan is 8 gbps down and 8 gbps up

Its FAST for my area. Full Fibre has only just become available to me. Infact, my area has been one of the slowest areas of the UK until recently

Just had this offer show up after my first months use!
Might take it actually, despite what I said earlier. I wasn't gonna pay double for 900Mb download, cause that's irrelevant to me...

But to get the 110Mb UPLOAD speed... I think that could well be worth just an extra £5 a month

Plus, had I upgraded before this offer, Id never have received it and would have been paying literally double what I'm paying already !!!

for us, it´s the upload needed, we pay 30€ a month and get English TV with about 100 channels on fibre, giving us a a 5G wireless 200mb up and 300 down, although, could plug in and get faster. Here in Spain, the cable fibre companies promise up to 1gb up and down if wanted!

the upload is essential for our business, not so much the down

not necessarily. the usa still sucks in some places. like mine. i can watch xvideos but i have to set it down to 480 from HD

otherwise it gets choppy.
